The hotel is well located on the corner of a lively square. We were easily able to walk to attractions in all locations including the Prado and the Royal Palace. The rooms are very trendy with low beds, electric blinds and a rather quirky toilet & shower arrangement that is really only suitable for couples and very close friends - the glass shower cubicle is in the room so not very private. Everything was spotless and there are decent toiletries. The storage is a bit limited with no drawers and only a small wardrobe but this is very much a short break hotel. Breakfast is served in the adjacent bar at a very reasonable price but the selection is quite limited and the coffee is served from thermos jugs and not very hot. There are numerous places nearby to have a coffee and churros instead. The hotel enhanced our stay in this terrific city and we hope to return as there were so many restaurants we never got to sample (as an aside, take advantage of the fact that all restaurants have to offer a reasonably priced fix lunch menu during the week and you can pick up a great bargain!).

This hotel is quite well located, just in front of Plaza Santa Ana. The place has lots of restaurants, tapas and coffe houses. The room was very big, well decorated, with an wonderful plaza view. One negative point: The automatic system to open/close the curtains did not operate properly.

Knowing no Spanish, the desk staff at the Alicia was fantastic. They helped to change my flamenco reservation and spoke to the reservation service for our car. Undoubtedly they could not have been more helpful. Also, the location is within walking distance of all the best attractions! You will be so happy if you chose this hotel!

I stayed in the Room Mate Alicia during the FITUR exhibition and had a very good experience. Very good service, clean and nice rooms and located right in the center of Madrid in the vibrant Plaza Santa Ana.
