“Run away from this place... Awfull... Dirty...Noisy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I could write 3 pages in between : the bad service (attitude of the staff, poor education, not even good morning...) the poor quality of the rooms equipment, it is supposed to be a "high tech hhotel", they are 8 channels in spanish and 2 in german, the rest of the world of course does not exist, the hallways are so dirty, my room was incredibly dirty, hair in the towel (not mine) dusty shelving, paper under the bed, sheets, mirors... all is bad... AND you can not sleep !!!!
It is soooooooooooo noisy, from inside and outside... You will hear flushing all hotels, not talking about the housekeepers in the morning, doors... anyway... my worst stay

“Overall very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Stayed here in early Sept 2011 as a solo female (mid-40's) traveler. Location was pretty central. I was able to walk everywhere. Didn't take the public transport. I took a day tour to Toledo, which was very good. The breakfast and room it was served in was good. Always had yogurt, eggs, cured meats, cereal, good coffee, etc. The staff was polite and helpful. The bathroom was pretty large and modern for European standards. Body shower, rain shower and hand-held. Slate floors. I was in room 714 (I think), but I don't believe it was any different than any other room. Oh, and had a fridge in the room to store misc. pastries I had from the day. That was a plus. Italian restaurant around the corner was excellent!

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

I highly recommend this hotel for the ones who want to explore Madrid. The best places, the best attractions of the city are close to the hotel. But not only the location makes the hotel a good choice, the personnel is smiling and they try to give you tips for your stay. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's a good value for money, still you have a terrace in case you want to enjoy a cigarette and feel the Spanish sun. The only bad thing is that they don't have a proper elevator to get to the reception which gives you pains in the back to drag the suitcase upstairs. All in all, it is a good hotel for an enjoyable stay in Madrid.

“horrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

It is billed as a 4 star however it does not even measure up to a 2 star. It is dirty, smelly, with a dis respectable staff. It is not suitable for travelers who need a clean, welcoming, place to stay. we requested early check in, higher floor, and non smoking. We left rather then submit to their "extra charge to check in early" - sleeping in a room on the 2nd floor that was so small it would have been impossible for 2 adults live in it or take the only room available on the "smoking floor" or " pay 30 euros to have a room on a higher floor".
We are currently disputing their charges because we canceled. We did not cancel - we refused to stay.

“too dark, my biggest complaint, can't see well enough to read or use computer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

I don't know how business people can stand staying in this business type hotel with a computer in every room. It is just to dark to do any work, even with all the lights on and for that reason I would never stay there again. You can't even read a book. Little desk room because tv was also on desk. I had a smoking room only because it was bigger than the no smoking room and the smoking floor reeked of smoke in the carpets in the hall. Halls were dark, dark and more dark and with the grey rugs etc, very unattractive. Although the bedroom design was upscale and modern and the bathroom shower features like a spa, the place was too dreary.
Breakfast room was neat and bright on the top floor and surrounded by windows, but very expensive for the buffet, around 17 euros. Great view.
Too many stairs to reach the reception desk and then more stairs to reach the elevator - not good for lots of luggage or handicapped person.
