The hotel is located on the main the hub of Madrid. You’re so close to Plaza Mayor & Puerta Del Sol which gives you plenty of options to go anywhere by walking or public transportation.

The façade of the hotel is very nice.

My room (415) is decent. I don’t complain much about the room size. Small rooms are typical of European cities especially if you’re not paying for a luxury hotel. Breakfast at the hotel is ok but I only ate once in there. I find that there are plenty of cafes around that you can have inexpensive breakfast and at the same time dine with the locals.

The bathroom with shower massage is great but useless. Can’t use it cause it floods the bathroom.

I would have expected little smiles at reception area. I’ve been to other similar European hotels and one thing that I enjoyed is a welcome and farewell smiles. They welcome you into their city.

Don’t miss the Mercado de San Miguel which is walking distance form this hotel.

Nice hotel in a great location but I'm in a triple room where the ceiling is sloping so low that we are in danger of banging heads and breaking necks.

I decided to stay at the Posada del Peine as the location could not be better and it has so much history.I was not wrong, what a great feeling to open the door of the Hotel and see the Plaza Mayor.

We were given a terrible room in the Attic, black ceiling, very claustrophobic and difficult to move around. The room need some TLC, curtains were failing apart, the door from the shower was loose, it just did not feel right...we could not sleep as one window did not close properly and the noise of the street did not end until 3am.

Next day in the afternoon I asked at Reception if they could repair the window, the gentleman at Reception suggested to change us the room, he moved us to the 3rd floor and we were happily surprise with the difference of the room.

All rooms have a computer with access to internet.
All rooms only with showers, not bath
One night my daughter was sick and after calling the Reception at 3am, they provide me with details of local 24H Chemist
I found the Receptionist in the afternoon were more friendly and helpful that the ones in the morning.
Next visit to Madrid I will pay a little bit more to have a better room with a bath and better facilities but it was a nice experience.

Location fantastic.
Attic room with black ceiling -no natural light/ no view and low artificial light. No space to move upright.
Had to ask for extra covers on beds.
Shower good, but flooded all bathroom.
Towels not very clean.
Tiny reception area.
Free laptop + wifi but very slow.
