“Big room, nice bathroom, middle of nowhere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2011

This felt very much like a business hotel. Check-in was quick, room large with a suitably large bathroom (great power shower, no bath). Modern in style, free decent wi-fi, large bed. Telly was mostly Spanish (in fact I don't remember finding an English speaking channel). Breakfast was standard fare, rather a lack-lustre choice of rubbery scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, toast. A selection of a few cheese slices and cold meats. Biggest criticism is that it is in the middle of nowhere- about 30-45 min by train or taxi into the centre of town.

“nothing special; bit under average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

had to stay for one night. totally average hotel, in fact a bit under average. the floor of the entire room is cheap parquet which, barefoot, feels slightly cold/unclean. the bed was also too small. other than that nothing much to say about this except that it is located near the middle of nowhere and the breakfast is not great--except for the coffee since they have reasonably good cappuccino. having said all this the check-in was friendly and for the rest I did not see any personnel. there is no reason to stay in this hotel unless you have to

“Not very welcoming”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

We had trouble with our booking with the hotel- we booked online with allresnet and had a good rate of 70 Euros for a family room (2 bunk beds and a double). When we arrived they claimed we had a reservation for only 2 people and that it wasn't for a family room. Thankfully I had kept my voucher/receipt and the front desk sorted it out (grudgingly- we had a brief argument). On check out, they charged me 100 Euros- and again I had to show my receipt for my reservation. So it was one battle after another. Luckily we were there for only one night. The rooms are fine-clean with a laptop and internet service, but nothing special. The small cafe is saturated with cigarette smoke. The food in the dining room was good- but no vegetarian main course option. There is free airport shuttle but you have to call to let them know you are arriving. Taxis are just outside the main entrance. The front desk supplied metro maps and maps of central Madrid (but you have to ask for them). Overall our booking experience and how it was handled set the tone for our visit and it wasn't very welcoming.

“Decent Hotel Subpar Bed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2010

We stayed here for both business and pleasure. The breakfast was better than average and the staff was friendly and helpful. Only one TV channel had English programming and only for a few hours per day. The most memorable part was the bed. Rock hard and never got used to it even after seven days. Normally it takes me only two or three days to adjust to a hard bed but this one was an exception. I never woke up without being sore.

“they got the sale but lost the customer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2010

This hotel was ok. It had the added advantage of free in room internet access (with a laptop) which in the circumstances of being stuck here due to the volcanic ash situation really suited my purposes. It was a clean, comfortable, standard 3 star airport hotel stuck in the middle of an industrial estate. The bed was rock hard and the flat screen TV was of no use unless you spoke Spanish. Given that this hotel is marketed towards transit passengers at Madrid airport an English channel or 2 would help with the boredom of a dull room and location.

I would not have (in normal circumstances) a problem staying here in future at their standard internet rate. However because of the prevailing circumstances on the day in question, with canceled flights etc at Madrid, this group had a substantial mark up on the prevailing rate for the night I stayed there. Shame on them for exploiting people in such vulnerable circumstances. Yes they got a sale but most certainly lost a customer.
