“La Fontana is a good place to stay”

Just spent 3 nights here and feel it's necessary to say that previous reviews of here are not accurate. The owners were very friendly and considering I don't speak Spanish we were able to have some brief conversations. Room was always clean and it was obvious that the owners took pride in the place. The towels might not be the best but it's not a five star hotel either. Room got hot at times but opening a window to let some air in fixed that. And yes there were prostitutes around the street but we found there were prostitutes on many streets in Madrid. They never bothered us. Location was perfect and so easy to get anywhere in madrid with metro line just a short walk away. Would be more than happy to return to this lovely hostal!

Had we known what to do with the room and there is also certain that in cases like these will return the cost and not pretend that only those who lost all this have no guilt, and in all ways we have states that have lost more

“Gonna stay? Think twice!”

It was my BIGGEST mistake while in Spain! La Fontana was found on dirty side-street, close to Gran Via. Single room was like a grave - both by appearance and by temperature. Receptionist told me in broken English that heater should switch on automatically, but nothing like this happened. Blankets seemed taken from local prison - they were so old and thin! Finally, across the street there was a bordello, so lots of Romanian prostitutes were hanging around. You may ask me: "Hey, stupid, why didn't you run away from that place?!" Just because my reservation could not be cancelled and it was confirmed by my credit card:(

Estimado señor ,todas las Reservas estan garantizadas con la tarjeta de credito, pero si una persona no se encuentra bien , puede avisar y puede anular su reserva.
La calefacion , los tecnicos de las calderas lo tienen programado con una temperatura confort
equivalente a 22 grados.



Lo que veo es que en su viaje todo es sucio ,calle, hostal,mantas, habitacion, ha visto prostibulos y prostitutas en todo lados , no le parece que ha exajerado un poco, sepa que todos lo años,muchas de mi ganancias se van para reformar el hostal y tambien quiero aclarar que tengo un profundo respecto de mi clientes y mi alma no me permite tratar mal a las personas.
Tambien creo que merecen respecto todas aquellas personas , que son muchisimas ,y son mi clientes de muchos años y vuelven siempre, antes de todo ,por la limpieza y el trato que reciben en este hostal.

Because of volcanic ash issues a group of 3 people was unable to come to Madrid, hostel was informed about this. Despite this fact, the money was taken from the card. What a avid owner!

Small room (101) without window ! Double bed width approx. 150 cm. Terrible breakfest. Good location, but that is all.

Inform these gentlemen that rooms without windows are prohibited by law and tourism, naturally happen once a year to check the rooms,
I do not understand because he says he had no window, has a, high cm2.40, puedecer have been confused hostel.
breakfast was free, was the same that gave the hotel 4 stars that I have at hand.
Cafe ', milk, tea', chocolate, biscuits, crackers, cereal, juice.
When I remove 'everybody cried.

Unbelievable ! SHAME ON THEM ...
Very bad behavor , really bad situation in the small room , i couldn't stay even for one hour in there !!! NOT cleaned room !

Unhelpful stuff, verey small and they did'nt offer even those i had already paid for, such as ... HEAT , HOT WATER, TELEPHONE, TV , BALCONY. THEY ARE LYERS AND NOBADY SHOULD VISIT THIS UNDESCRIBLE PLACE !!!!

INFORM OTHER PEOPLE BEFORE THEY PAY JUST LIKE I DID , I LOST MY MONEY IN THERE !!!!
