“Good comfort in Chueca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

We've long been searching for a good hotel for our frequent visits to Madrid. Since the demise of the Hotel Monaco we've gone from one hotel to another seeking somewhere comfortable yet relaxed. Lussco Infantas is close to Gran Via, Chueca and lots of small restaurants and bars. The most useful extra was the I-Pad that was free for one day and a small hire charge for the others. It gave excellent wifi. Noticed too late that a choice of pillows was available and will see what that offers on the next visit.

“Great hotel in a convenient location in Madrid”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

I stayed here for two nights. They upgraded me to a larger room, which was really nice. The front room had two chairs, a closet and TV. The bathroom was very big and modern. Nice marble touches. The bedroom was also big and had a TV and a water pot with coffee, which seemed to be hard to find in Madrid hotels. The only odd thing about this place was that the hotel staff refused to give me regular coffee the first night, saying they upgraded me as a favor and they could not accommodate that request. Also, nearby the hotel is a Starbucks, local cafes, a grocery store and health food store. Walking distance to Gran Via Metro. Loved it.

“Great Location with Excellent Front Desk Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

My only problem with my room was with air conditioning system thermostat.I found that it was probably the most complicated thing that I have experienced in awhile .If you can figure it out go for it .
Maybe it was my problem but I notice that a recent guest reviewer also had a HOT room to sleep in .
I slept with the window open so that solved my problem as well but that was in October .
Maybe the manager could have each room checked and the
thermoststs replaced with something that is more USER FRIENDLY !

The location is excellent because it is within walking distance to cafes, bars, a grocery/supermarket and a dollar store It is near a main street which has everything of course. The only drawback is that it is located on a one way street which the taxis have to work around to get to/from and that runs the meter up especially during busy hours .
I suggest taht you walk to the main street which is DOWN hill from the hotel and catch a taxi on the main street ..this will save you some bucks .

The staff are excellent ! They go out of their way to help you out .
They speak excellent English .Any issue that I had (which were very few) was immediately solved (except the air conditioning thermostat settings problem ).
There is a safe in the room that fits a small laptop .
It is an excellent valued hotel and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thanks for a great stay and thanks for the free wifi !

“Very good hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Hotel was very nice, clean, and roomy enough. Only drawback was the shower hose had a crimp in it so water pressure was inadequte for the shower head making showering a long process. Agree with others that they need new covers and pillows but otherwise it was ok. Location was excellent since it was within walking distance to all the hot spots, that is if you are a walker and in shape. Hotel had a small computer room which was nice. Did not get the impression that it was for gay travellers. The front desk staff was very helpful as they reserved a cab for our return trip to the airport. The breakfast buffet was a little disappointing in that they did not have scrambled eggs but the attendant went and whipped some up just for us even after I told her it wasn't necessary, so we left her a very nice tip. That customer service was very impressive. Location was very safe even though it was set back about 1 or 2 blocks from main street. Two women travelling alone and we never felt threatened about our safety getting to and from this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask them how to work the thermostat when they help bring your bags to your room.

“Good hotel with some issues”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

The hotel itself is very nice and very centrally located.

I had some money (£20) stolen from my room. I shouldn't have left this money on the side table as a safe is provided in the room, but I just didn't think about it. The receptionist (in person) and the hotel manager (by e-mail) were rather dismissive of this and both suggested that I had mislaid the money myself - which is definitely not the case.

My other issue with the hotel was cleanliness - initially I would have ranked this as excellent, but when I started to look for the missing money under the bed and behind the desk I noticed these areas were very dusty and hadn't been cleaned in some time.

Due to my experience I would probably book somewhere else.

Dear Guest,

I'm sorry if I seemed dismissive, nothing is further from my intention. What I meant to say is that the four chambermaids who work permanently in the hotel have been working with me at least 4 years, some up to 8 years and never had a problem of lack anything in the room.

About the lack of cleaning under the beds, I reviewed two rooms per floor and they were all in good condition, any way I told the chambermaids again to clean under the beds every day and I have been checking for the lasts weeks and everything was alright.

I am very sorry about the idea you have of the hotel and We hope you to give us a new opportunity in order to change your mind.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

David Cachavera
