The hôtel is very well located in Madrid, just across a large park. the neighborhood is quiet and calm. Thé streets are large and parking car look to br easy.
The hôtel is an old hôtel which has been refurbished ( mostly completed) and is confortable while some détails look nôt perfect .
Service is kind and helpful . À cosy salon is available and has a cosy and casual deco. Confortable place to discuss between friends

After a very busy and hectic year (work in NYC) the AC Palacio was the perfect respite to decompress for a 5 night stay over the holidays. The vibe is very low key and attentive. The combined ambience of the hotel with the extremely polite and professional staff, made me feel more like a quest in a a well appointed home. Prior to arriving we had a lengthy conversation with the front desk person about the rooms. They never grew impatient or annoyed and gave us a nice overall description of the choices. Our room was on the first floor which is actually above street level with a view of the park. Perhaps it's relative to living on the UWS but the minimum evening noise from cars was never an issue. The large window and sunlight and view of the park was great. The bathroom was huge with a shower that could fit four. The full breakfast offers the traditional European cold selection as well as hot menu items. The full cost is a bit pricey but as a Marriott member the less $10.00 per person made it the perfect price. The omelettes were great, no issues with egg whites, lots of choices. As everyone else has mentioned, the location is right in the museum triangle so walking is easy and a plus to walk through the park on your way. The front desk was helpful with making reservations if needed. We didn't miss having a concierge so if you are accustomed to getting lots of suggestions, directions and brochures from the hotels you stay at, you probably won't find them here. There is 24 hour computer access for online research. There are plenty of complientary daily Spanish papers. You'll need to walk down the street a few blocks to the newstand for English. Again, the service was a stand out for us. Admittedly we can be a bit high maintence with lots of questions, dietary choices, extra hangers and towels. They were always gracious and nice. By the second day the staff at breakfast had remembered what we had ordered the day before and asked right off if it would be the same or any changes. We really felt very welcomed and truely like a quest they were happy to have.

Lovely hotel in a great location with wonderful rooms. However, be sure to request a room with actual windows. The one they gave me had small portholes as windows and barely any light entered the room. I requested a room change but was told no rooms were available due to 100% occupancy (not quite 100% sure if this was true as the hotel was very quiet). The spa was great although the gym lacks enough equipment for a real work out (if that is what you require). Right across the street is Retiro Park which is a great place for a jog. I would consider staying here again if I got a room with sunlight.

An incredible hotel to arrive when you are jet lagged. Very comfortable and very accommodating and helpful staff. Free WiFi which is such a plus. The bed was very comfortable and the location was perfect to hit the big museums in Madrid.
