Stayed in this hotel for one night on a layover. I chose it specifically because it was advertised as being close to the airport. Well, it is about 15 minutes away by taxi. There is free shuttle, but ONLY on weekdays and Saturday morning. The night taxi fare was 22 euros, which included an 8 euro airport surcharge. There are metro and bus stations nearby. The bus takes you straight to the airport, whereas with the metro you need to change twice. The front desk staff was super-friendly and helped me with my suitcase. The room itself was nice and very clean, which was important to me. The walls, I think, were quite thin, because the sound of snoring coming from the next door kept me awake for a while. Did not stay long enough to have breakfast there.

Overall, I'd shop around before choosing this hotel again, but would consider it if I needed to stay close to the airport.

The staff is super friendly and helpful! We had to leave early the next morning and couldn't enjoy the breakfast that I had prepaid. They were kind enough to arrange 2 breakfast baskets for our 2 rooms. There is no nightime front desk so when checking in late or leaving early may present a problem. Otherwise, the rooms were nice and clean!
Short walk to the Metro lead us right into the center of the city for our tours.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days because we were driving from Malaga and it said it had parking. Well the parking was very expensive and it was no more than an alley inside the walls of the grounds (if you could call it that). It was virtually impossible to get our rental car into the parking area. In the end it was better just to park on the street. We were also meeting some colleagues out near the airport and thought it would be easier to get to the meeting and to the airport after our short stay. The hotel had an airport shuttle so that was helpful.

there was no elevator and we had 3 weeks of cruise luggage - a major pain. There was not even a semblance of helping us with the bags up the stairs.
The rooms were small (we had just finished a transatlantic cruise and the room was smaller than our cabin) and had no place to put our clothes. There was supposedly air coditioning but apparently it was not on yet for the season, even though the temperature in the afternoon were over 30 degrees celsius. In the end we had to open our window and door and try to get a cross breeze to cool the room off before retiring for the evening.

The breakfast was a joke and outrageously expensive.

there is nothing very near the hotel - it is in a residental area. It is a 10 minute (easy) walk to the metro and a little further there is a commercial street that had some resturants and shops.

I would not stay there again.

Generally I dont like writing reviews but I found Tripadvisor review is 1 of the most effective tool to select hotels an decided to share my experience with potential tourist to Madrid.
I have been in this hotel in early Nov 2009. I am a budget traveller and paid GBP42 per night for 5 nights. My experience was quite satisfactory. Location is western edge of Madrid. Bit far from Gran Via and Sol but being very near to metro, it takes 25 minutes to reach Sol and el rasto.
Shops and restaurents are within easy access , not more than 5 minute walk.
The breakfast was pretty decent though there is no much variety in menu to choose
The area is quiete and the hotel staffs are nice.
They provides a good selection of free local maps which have got enough detail and extremely useful for peole new to Madrid.
Tioiles were with good spec and clean. Room service was satisfactory.

The only negative I noticed is their bedding. Though they were clean but looks bit old and there were pretty enough sings of ageing.

If I go Madrid again, would definitely consider staying there as one of the viable option.
