This place is like a clean SUPER8 or Motel6.
Very very basic but clean and sufficient hotel in the heart of Madrid. If you want to stay in the Puerto Del Sol area on a budget, this is likely the best choice. Of course Madrid has far better hotels, but it will cost you more. The staff are helpful, but the hotel really has nothing more than clean rooms, with the most basic furniture and amenities. I wasn't too pleased with the state of linens, towels, and worn blankets. Basically it’s a place to lay down your head at night, I would not want to hang out in these rooms too long – they are too stale and uninteresting, and ours had barely any light. Our bath/shower was fine, with great water pressure, except for the half-way glass barrier that is typical of some European tubs, and holds no water in while you shower. However, our other parties in our group had a shower stand in which no person even slightly overweight would easily fit – much in the manner of a tight cruise ship shower stall. The wood panels at the floor of this stall expanded and shrunk with water and temperature changes, causing strange noises. I hate to think what could be growing under that wood. Breakfast was good, many choices, with the exception of coffee, which was dismal as per usual for Spanish 2 to 3 star hotels --utilizing a machine to dispense something approaching very weak brown water. Our room looked into a courtyard which was actually a series of private apartments, with clothes lines running across the courtyard. The residents would speak from window to window and you would hear the conversations at random times. Depending on your perspective you could find being party to these conversations charming, or annoying. The place doesn’t have much soul, but is good value for the price and certainly a great central location.
