“Ideal for short stay & great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with friends 10-12 December 2011 with friends to attend the Classico Game ...It was a very pleasant stay ...it's definitely not the Hilton but it's very descent, clean, nicely furnished, very practical location - few minutes from Puerta Del Sol and other attractions & restaurants & pubs - ...In few words: Great hotel for a short break/weekend.
Staff very friendly and extremely professional ...A package was sent to me few days before my arrival, it was professionally handled and no bad surprise at all ...They even helped us to buy additional ticket to the Classico ...Ideal for short party break in Madrid & great value for money ...If coming back to Madrid for a short stay, would definitely stay there again ...

Room Tip: To get a great rate, try to book at least 4 weeks in advance.

“Hip hotel close to Plaza del Mayor that didn't break the bank”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We loved this hotel which was cool and hip and contemporary. The very quiet room looked out a large balconied window to historic buildings, it was right next to all the places we wanted to walk to like Plaza del Mayor, the cobbled back streets full of shops, Cardomoma to watch the flamenco, fantastic restaurants, buses and trains and the open topped sightseeing tourist bus. It even had free wifi. I would absolutely recommed this hotel.

Room Tip: We were looking away from the main road onto a quiet street with beautiful historic buildings.

“Fabulous location if only the bathroom doors would close”

Fabulous location with the best tapas Bar El Patio right next door. A big thank you to Arturo the receptionist who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful (which cannot be said about his rude colleague Javier). A big thank you also to the always cheerful young lady in charge of the breakfast room (great breakfast, big choice)! Our only complaint: the "designer" bathroom doors that don't close - no privacy here.

Room Tip: As high up as possible because the streets get rather noisy especially on weekends - we stayed on th...

I stayed here over a weekend in August. It's a great location, the rooms although small have everything you need. I had breakfast in the hotel for the last morning and this was excellent. The staff were very helpful.

“Not bad for a city break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights at the end of October. We arrived at Madrid airport after flying in with Easyjet from Liverpool. Easyjet were great, on time and no problems at all. We arrived at Madrid and caught the city centre bus in to town (getting off at the wrong stop) we got off a very busy bus at Atocha. We then proceeded to walk up the biggest longest hill dragging our suitcases, as my other half was in charge of the map, we arrived in Puerta del Sol Plaza, OMG it's a busy one!! Packed to the rafters with people, students protesting (quietly) and tourists! We couldn't find the hotel, so asked a Policeman with our limited Spanish and his limited English we found our way to the hotel, It's a lovely building from the outside, and the foyer is spacious enough although not great if you have mobility as there are a couple of steps. The receptionist was a tad on the miserable side, but hey not a problem, we were on the 5th floor which was hotel wise quiet and spotlessly clean and a window that opens for some much needed fresh air. A large tv with music channels and he eventually found BBC world news though we're not sure how! The rooms are small but adequate, the bathroom was ....... different, not sure i like the idea of the glass door that doesn't lock and can open both ways, and i've been with my other half over 20 years, i still like a bit of privacy! Bathroom itself was large and plenty of hot water. We didn't do breakfast there, as it was 14 euros and there is a little cafe next door that was a bit cheaper and did lovely coffee, so go there.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet one as the one we had faced the main road and was busy all night long with sirens an...
