a group of us women stayed here for a weekend away. It was good value as we had priced around. it was also very central for the nightlife and you would feel safe. It was noisy when you opened your window at anytime, but as I said it was at the heart of the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was also very good, and served later which was an added bonus. There was no need for a bar or other services as you just had to walk out the front door.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is just off of the Puerta del Sol. You can easily walk to all the sites from the hotel. The hotel is located on a busy and noisy street. I had a room facing the street, I thought how bad can it be, well....it was loud. The first night I was so tired I just crashed, but the second night I had a really hard time falling asleep. There is a lot of noise from people laughing and talking. The room was small, double bed, desk and a chair. Nice sized bathroom and big closet. Free wifi. I fell in love with Madrid and want to go back and when I do I would stay at this hotel. Oh..the food was so good and so was the wine.

This hotel was ideal for our needs. It was very clean, with high ceilings and lots of room. It is right by Puerto del Sol and walking distance to all major attractions.
The street noise didn't bother us since we are very late people and generally ok with big city noises. The only time when it was a problem, was when we just arrived to Madrid and wanted to take a nap after our long flight and were kept up by a loud street advertiser on the street yelling out an ad for buying gold every 30 seconds. The are is safe despite some shady people after dark and prostitutes up the street. There are lots of tourists everywhere and a police station a few buildings away.
There is no easy parking if you have a car. We picked up our car on the last day and I was able to park it for a few minutes by the police station near by while getting our bags.

This was the 5th we stayed at this hotel.

The hotel is central and perfect for all the main attractions. People will tell you the street and therefore the hotel is noisy right through the night......well Madrid is noisy its a capital city with both local and tourists alike out till the early hours. Believe me it does not spoil the hotel in any way.

Anyway back to the hotel, its clean the rooms also have a bed or two (always a bonus I find if the room has a bed), shower, toilet, safe, wardbrobe and the staff are very friendly (and they speak English if that is important to you). It also serves breakfast altough to be honest we tended to go out for a sit in the sun a coffee and tortilla bocadillo (excuse my spelling) there is a reasonable cafe next door if your legs wont take you very far we tended to head towards Plaza Major (although dont eat or drink in the main square the prices are very high especially if you sit out side. Its become custom for us to have one drink in Plaza Major then decide its far too expensive and leave)

I reccomend -- Madrid is a wonderful city, if you like your beer check out the belgian bar just off the Plaza Major, for beer and tapas head for Calle de Jesus the two bars we tried were packed full of locals (always a good sign), the service was great and the food interesting (but not quite as interesting as the pigs ears we tried earlier in the trip).

Anyway thats it - GREAT HOTEL GREAT PRICE and GREAT GREAT CITY. Infact the I travel the more I look forward to may 3/4 days in Madrid.
