The Senator Gran Via is located in the busy centre of Madrid with shopping, restaurants and sights within easy walking distance. Just a couple of minutes away from Sol and Plaza Mayor. The hotel is right at the entrance to the Gran Via metro station. The metro runs right to the airport and it's an easy journey to the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes and costs €2.50, there is 2 connections but the metro system is straight forward to navigate.
The facilities at the hotel were very good. First impressions at the reception area were not great but once past there you get a better feel for the hotel. We went for the superior room and the extra room was worth the small extra charge. The rooms were very comfortable and the black out curtains meant we got a good nights sleep.
The breakfast was included in the rate and was good. There was the usual meats and cheese and a chef on duty to cook eggs and bacon. There is a cafe rights next door which would be another option if breakfast is included in your rate. There is no shortage of good eating places in Madrid!
We really enjoyed our time in Madrid and would definitely again and stay in the Senator Gran Via.

We stayed at 3 days during our trip to Spain. I liked the location - in 1-5 minutes from 2 different subway stations, near the central area, near the Presidential Palace and parks. The room was surprisingly comfortable, with king size bed, with a table and chairs, a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee sachets. In the mini-bar - a free set of soft drinks, replenished daily. The room was also attended by a safe and ironing board. The only negative - since we were only at the weekend, we were not able to meet with spa area, which, by contrast, operates only on weekdays. Well, the windows overlook the large trunk, where from morning till night, heard the noise of cars, but to us it is not particularly bothered, as a very tired on city tours and great sleep.
The hotel staff is very friendly, helping to understand the arrangement of objects in the city, summoned a taxi with no problems. Given the found nearby restaurant, which trains "for local," and exhibiting tables on the street - it was a memorable weekend. We will definitely return there if we are in Madrid.

This hotel could not be more fantastically situated. We didn't even need to think about having a car or transportation during our stay. There is more than enough to do to fill the time for a few days.

Lovely hotel in the heart of everything. Close to shopping,transportation,restaurants and theather. Huge bathroom, good size room everything was very clean.. We were off the courtyard so nice and quiet. We ate in the resturant and enjoyed the food both at breakfast and dinner. A good value.
