We stayed at Ganivet Hotel in January 2012. The room was basic but clean and comfortable, staff helpful and friendly and the car park under the hotel very useful.
This hotel is a good base for central Madrid being close to the Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the amazing Mercado de San Miguel.

Room: small but cozy & well mantained & clean. no view at all.

breakfast: very good

Internet: free everywhere, poor signal in the room

Downtown distance: 10 minute walking

Metro distance: 5 minute walking

Location: very good for visiting the Sunday street fair

Staff: vewry respectul

Good location, very close to 2 metro stations, rooms are clean. No noise and we were at the front of the hotel on the 3rd floor.......would stay there again.

The hotel Ganivet is located close to Puerta Toledo, two min. walking from the underground station. Old Madrid, Palacio Real and Plaza Major are walking distance. The hotel room is well equipped but a bit small. Breakfast buffet is very good. Staff friendly and helpfull. Take a good sangria in the hotel cafeteria! We had New Year Eve dinner in the hotel; food was good and quite cheap. If you are looking for a good quality price hotel in Madrid that's the right one.
