“Great Location small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

A fantastically located hotel , next to Gran Via Metro and easy to find.
The rooms are very very small , everything is crammed into a small space and the bathroom has a glass wall, so if you like privacy then dont stay here.
The beds where ok and rooms cleaned quite late so you get a chance to have a late sleep , but don't if you have paid for the breakfast , time states up to 10.30am but if you arrive after 9.20am there's only fruit left and the staff have switched off the toaster. The breakfast staff are not that welcoming either , after 5 night stay and 4 breakfast there was no buenos dias from either of them , just whats your room number. With so many people on the PARO en espana, get some decent breakfast staff. The young ladies on recepetion where helpful, friendly and very very professional , at least there are some good staff employed here.
Overall the best thing about this hotel is location and reception staff !!

Room Tip: Order a smoking room, a nice balcony to see Gran Via and people watch

“Helpful staff, aging rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Stayed 2 nights last week, friendly reception and service. When I required a plate with fork and knife, they immediately provided to my room. The room itself has some quirky (not so good) features: 1) very small, can't sit at desk without bumping back of chair to bed, 2) bathroom door opens and blocks easy access into the bathroom itself (think sliders, designers!). 3) the shower is not great - body spray not functional and frankly makes the whole bathroom floor wet. 4) heatling was lacking, (it was very cold in the room, and the only blanket was ripped!) 5) the walls are so thin! you hear every step and cough from neighbors.
The location is great, so easy to get to and in a fun area of Madrid.

Room Tip: away from elevator, that contraption is NOISY!

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

Stayed here 5 days, room 206. Staff was great!! hotel rooms small but good for two people max. This is the way to experiance Spain in the middle of everthing, people start partying at 2 am dont stop til 6 am be prepared. very convenient close to all sorts of shops and food, go to the drunken duck bar down the street for a cheap and filling breakfast.

“Walking distance to shopping and restaurants.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

This hotel is in the beautiful downtown Madrid city. Close distance to Shopping, Restaurants, and Metro station. Very Convenient. Since it was downtown it was also very noisy with ambulances all night. The hotel itself was nice and clean but had a mildew odor. Their was a very nice breakfast downstairs that we thought was included in the price but we were wrong. We should have asked. Our mistake. Our trip to Spain was fabulous and we were able to get this Hotel at the last minute since our flight arrangements changed. It was very expensive compared to others that were nicer, newer and cheaper.
