Located near the city center. Close to shops, restaurant, and everything

Had to leave very early in the morning and the manager provided me and my family a pot of coffee
I had the room on the 4th floor and long walk from the elevator. Room and bathroom is large, but the bed is not the most comfortable.

My biggest problem is that my room was very hot. I tried to turn on the air conditioner, but only hot air comes out. My room was facing the inside of the hotel, so opening the window doesn't help much.

Tried to change room unfortunately the hotel was fully booked.

This Hotel is ideal for exploring the City, right in the center and surrounded by Bars and restaurants.
We arrived at the airport and took the Metro to Anton Martin, the Hotel sits in the same road, although Metro station Sol is nearer navigating to the Hotel was easier from Anton Martin the 1st time.
The Hotel has all you need and the staff are very helpful.
Compact but comfy, making the best of limited space with a Bar and restaurant that are reasonably priced.
The one tip I can offer is that when checking out the local Bar menus on the outside windows
before sitting down to order check that the inside menu reads the same both in prices and content.
Also, wine is considerably better value than beer. I never saw a pint glass the whole time I was there, beer was sold in tumblers of about a third of a pint and at about 2.5 Euros.

Just got back, and it couldn't have been better! The location is absolute perfection, so close to most of main attractions. The staff was so helpful and their English was great (they even humored me with my horrible Spanish). And if you smoke, puff away, many smoking rooms. Though I have to admit my room was a little weird--on the top (5th) floor, it was like a loft but you couldn't go up to the loft level, there were skylights, and then I realized--no windows!!! But I didn't miss them, and everything was clean and comfy. Fridge in the room. Totally recommend this place!

Convenient location (walking distance to Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol, Prado, etc.); very pleasant and helpful staff; very quiet and clean room in a historic building.

Doesn't have the big resort hotel amenities, but we didn't need/want those anyway - we came to see Madrid.

The only downside of staying in the heart of old Madrid is the distance to the airport (expensive cab ride especially when the city center is closed down for a big event with the king as happened when we left).
