I booked two apartments in April for myself and 3 friends. Both rooms were situated on the 1st floor, and both were very spacious, clean and airy. The kitchen facilities were great - including a modern 4 ring electric hob and microwave. The location is perfect - within walking distance of the major sights, and just a step away from the Plaza St Ana, which is a lovely spot for a tortilla in the sun! Would definitely stay in this hotel again!

We had a great stay here in Sept 08. The Apts are in a great central location - not only right near P. d. Sol and close to the Pl. Mayor - but right in the centre of the great restaurant / bar / nightlife area. Lots of great tapas bars (not to menion the well known ones on P. Santa Ana - 30 secs away). Loads of places to eat and also for breakfast/ coffee.

The Apts are great - very clean and above average standard bathroom. Room had full catering facilities which although we didn't use them - looked to be well equipped for cooking etc. The building is nice - had an old wooden staircase and small lift. The room had huge wooden shutters which blocked out the street noise (the locals do like to party!!).

Madrid is a fantastic place - lots to do and great atmosphere. The Apts are worth more than their two keys!!

The hotel is in the perfect location for everything in Madrid. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and most sights within walking distance.
The rooms were very big and clean. Comfortable beds and recently updated bathroom. Hot water is a bit of an issue, they tell you there is enough for 3-4 quick showers, and then it takes 2 hours to heat again. The two of us never had a cold shower and we weren't particularly quick in the shower.The apartment had a kitchenette that was a little small but good enough for breakfasts and lite meals.
There is a supermarket near by in the major department store that is very reasonably priced for Madrid.
The reception staff were very helpful and all spoke English very well, which was great as my high school Spanish is not so great.
Downsides were the weird air freshener in the toilet that went off automatically all the time. My clothes smelt of it when i unpacked them at home. Also it is a long and winding way on the metro from the airport, took many changes. We got a taxi for 25 euros on the way back, much better and alot less hassle.
Would stay there again and recommend it to friends for a cheap and cheerful place to stay in Madrid.

We spent just one night at Principe 11 on our recent trip to Spain. The hotel is very good if you are looking for something not too fancy, but clean, serviceable, and in an excellent location. We rented an apartment there since there were five of us (two adults, three children) and it was huge. It was the only time on the trip where we really could spread out. The central location is an easy walk to the Royal Palace, the Prado, and Plaza Mayor.
