I stayed at the Madrid Tryp Atocha twice at the beginning and end of my travel to Morocco. The location is very good and easy to get to from the airport, despite the multiple Metro changes. Be sure to get off at Anton Martin. I did get turned around but was able to correct on my own. Madrid is very expensive. From theTryp Atocha I was able to take the subway to Gran Via and shop at the supermarket El Cortes Ingles. I also ate breakfast at the Duncan Doughtnut near the hotel one day. The second time, I participated in the breafast buffet. It consisted of soggy eggs, a toast machine, various juices - apple, mango, orange, many breads, tea, coffee, milk, soy milk, smoked salmon, jams, honey, olive oil, Spanish hard sausage (fatty), pork sausages, cereals, many delicious looking cheeses, fresh pineapple and more. While it is nice to have a tv in the room to aid in sleeping (for me), I did NOT like the sole English channel. The Tryp needs to update to include an English speaking movie channel esp since they have satellite and English visitors. That is unacceptable despite just using the room as a stopover. The tub with shower is a bit high and may be difficult for some to enter. The towels are huge and clean but u should bring ur own wash cloth. The provide basic stuff like a toothbrush/paste, comb, shaving kit and shower cap. The shower cap is too small or maybe my head is too big!

ok hotel. opposite to the train station. Convenient walk to the city center of about 15 minutes. however, very poor service and staff is very uptight. Rooms are super small. Only recommended for single people in transit.

Corridors were too small and seemed like a maze. Wi-fi is available but they wont give you the password till you really get it out of them. Very very small rooms. They dont have a kingsize bed. Only 2 twin size beds available which cannot be joined. The windows cant be opened since they look directly into the balcony of the hotel opposite. When we were there the AC didnt work.

Although the name suggests that its close to Atocha if you are taking a train ensure to get off at the Anton Martin station (not Atocha). This is almost diagonally opposite the hotel.

The location is the only thing worth talking about. Atocha station is about 15-20 minutes walk as well.

I spend a weekend in this hotel and i would like to recommed it to everybody who search an excellent location in the heart of Madird on a reasonable price. I loved my room, it was a fitness equipment inside ... :) Was quite which is very important. Additionally, the staff was very friendly, especially on the reception. The variety of the breakfast also was very good.

The hotel has a good location near the Atoacha trainstation and metro stop (Anton Martin) that is the only pro of the hotel. I stayed in the luxury room on the backside of the hotel on I believe the 5th floor (with a nice view over Madrid). The room was ok, but basic and very small! Especially the bathroom was to small for a hotel of this class and not very comfortable. The breakfast was good of qualtiy and has a good selection.
