Great location, that's about all the good. There was no wi-fi, and the bed was a bit too firm. There was a knocking sound that occurred the whole night, probably the radiator. There were posted rules that were not mentioned on the website, such as no food in the room, you can't wash your clothes in the bathroom, etc.

After one sleepless night, we knew we had to change hotels. The gentleman at the front desk offered no resistance, and was polite.

It is a family hotel, no luxury, no breakfast service and the control heating/cooling is central which is not very pleasant. On the other hand they try to save money and they put the system in the lower temperature and the rooms (especially the bathroom) are on the threshold of the cold.
But apart from this, it is a hotel very well located, 3 minutes from metro station "Porta do sol" and the main museums (Prado, Thyssen, Reyna Sofia) and a 10 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have stayed. In relation to cleanliness and staff nothing to point.
Definitely I will stay at this hotel if I returning to Madrid.

Old fashioned hotel with good service, great location and reasonable value.

My boyfriend booked this hotel and then told me about it. I was a little apprehensive after reading all the reviews. Once we got there, i was pleased. The price was fair, location was great! The room did look like a room in an old house but the bed was a good size, the shower was hot and the maid changed the sheets everyday. Id definitely recommend this hotel. I thought it was simple but what we needed. Also, when we were there, staff was friendly. Didn't go out of their way to make a conversation but answered all our questions and friendly doing so.
