We have been at Orfila Hotel in late december. It is a very nice boutique hotel, located in a quiet street nearby the Plaza de Còlon in a walking distance from the old city and the Bourbon district. The staff is attentive and very polite and they take care of any order quickly. We stayed in a very confortable room with all the facilities. The breakfast (included in the rate) is incredible with "jamòn iberico" and different kinds of cheese. We stayed for 3 nights and have a fantastic dinner in the beautiful restaurant. I suggest you try the perfect cochinillo (crispy pork), even better than the served in the famous Botin, also in Madrid.

Stayed for 2 nights with one evening dinner in their restaurant. Everything was perfect, (and I'm generally pretty hard to please). The service (Front Desk, restaurant, breakfast) was fantastic - courteous, unobtrusive but ever-present, helpful, personalised. A real pleasure. The restaurant meal was with an invited Mexican chef (Gastronomic festival time in Madrid) and was outstanding. Location of the hotel is in a very quiet sidestreet, 3mins walk from convenient place to pick up the Madrid tour bus, taxis, etc. Our first time in Madrid (fabulous city) and the hotel made it an excellent weekend. Just for info: cost of taxi to/from airport was 23€ each way, including the 5.50€ bagage supplement. Pleased to see that other reviews are in line with ours.

This was possibly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in top hotels all over the world. The staff was friendlier than any I have ever encountered - truly friendly. You could see they weren't putting on "the face," they were honestly friendly and caring. The dining room was beautiful and the food was excellent. The room was pretty and I loved the "old school" touch of the monogrammed sheets and pillow cases. The fruit bowl was an added touch.

I love Madrid and I love this area. And now I've found a small lovely hotel to go with it! Also, I got a great deal through e-bookers which made it affordable. Would recommend it for business as well as pleasure.
