“Nice Place to stay, Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2011

The service is great. Very nice guys working that hotel.
The rooms are real small but thats how many hotels are in the central locations.
Internet works Only on PC if you have a mac don't expect to get internet.
I was thinking it was only in my room but 3 other guys that had stayed there with a mac told me the same thing... the crazy thing is that the hotel management does not seam to understand the problem.
the best thing about the room is the bathroom nice and big shower. but from some reason the room gets dusty vary fast. if you leave something on the bed when you get back few hours later the thing is covered with dust. i think it is the fabric covering the windows.
The location is what make the hotel great... it is a real great to eat and hang out... next to the metro and few minuets from any central location in the city..
if you stay in Madrid for 2-3 days with out a mac it will be a great place...

“Boutique-style hotel in fun neighborhood.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2011

It is a boutique-style hotel, very modern in Salamanca-great for reastaurants and shopping and easy metro access to rest of the city. I found the room to be well-laid out , maybe small for US standards but fine with me,and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Room is dark when you pull velvet curtains and there is no clock so bring your own. Staff was very helpful in providing information about out of town trips. Breakfast was excellent, you can chose all-you-can-eat buffet for 10 Euros or take one plate with a pot of coffee for 5 Euros-great deal. Can't quite get used to the European way of doing showers-not fully enclosed.

“Style vs. substance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

This an uncompromisingly modern hotel. The rooms (in light-absorbing black and dark grey) are undoubtedly stylish, but so little light is provided that it feels like an experiment designed to give everyone the experience of being partially sighted - I had to use a torch to read the instructions for the safe. The bathroom (wet-room) looks great, but doesn't actually work (the water goes everywhere) and the 'uber-modern' basin doesn't have anywhere to put the soap. Oh well, 'style-over-substance'.again.This is a pity, because it's reasonably-priced, the location is good, the restaurant for diner and breakfast is above average, and there is secure parking for around 20 euros a night (reasonable by Madrid standards). More serious is the attitude of some staff - most notably at night in our experience. Other annoyances were: a WiFi that didn't seem to work in our room; 55 TV channels, none of which were in English; a mini-bar that contained nothing alcoholic (apparently a management decision . . . in case children use it!;, a bar that refuses to serve you after 11.30pm.; and poor sound insulation - notably in the corridors. I hope they attend to these niggles, because I'd rather like to use the hotel again.

“Terrific location and ultramodern design”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010

I chose the Zenit Abeba as both my preferred hotels in the area were unavailable for my travel dates. The location was fantastic and the welcome was warm. My flight from the UK had been delayed and I arrived after 2am, necessitating a taxi from the airport, rather than the Metro. The taxi journey took about 15 minutes and cost 30 euros with supplements.

Zenit Abeba is a very trendy hotel, with the hallways and rooms largely black and grey. This would not be to everyone's taste. It does make everything a bit dark and cold.

Pros: comfortable bed with quality linens; windows that open; air conditioning; a real hair dryer in the bathroom, quality bath towels, large flat screen TV, excellent buffet breakfast, friendly service, general cleanliness and location

Cons: very low level lighting and when combined with the black and grey colour scheme it is a bit dark, only one mirror in the room and that is in the bathroom, poor lighting in the bathroom makes it hard for ladies & make up, limited storage space in both the room and bathroom -- no drawers at all for clothing and only 4 hangers. Little soundproofing (typical of Madrid hotels, not unique to this one.)

Overall, the pros outweigh the minor cons and I would both recommend this hotel and return again myself. Would love to use the pool in the summer!

“Nobody in the front desk!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2010

I expected a lot more from this 4 star hotel! When I arrived, it took about 5 minutes for someone to show up in the front desk! The bedroom is very comfortable, clean and tidy.
Once, when we returned at night, we stopped at the restaurant/bar and wanted a cup of tea. Again, nobody showed up to serve us, or even to tell that it was closed, or something like that.
It is a pity that the hotel, which is new, modern and comfortable, offers bad quality services.
