We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is on a quiet street about 5 mins from the tube station so really convenient for getting around Madrid. The staff were polite and efficient. The room had a bedroom with en suite bathroom and a lounge area with a sofa bed and unlike other hotels we have stayed in were everything is in one room it was nice that there was more space for 2 six year olds and 2 adults. The room was clean and cleaned daily. The kitchen was tiny with a microwave and hotplate and fridge. No saucepans for using the hotplate, no kettle for boiling water. Its OK if you want to heat things up in a microwave but don't expect that you could cater for cooking for a familiy. We ate out most of the time. We didn't pay extra for the hotel breakfast, I went over to Starbucks every morning and brought back fresh coffee and croissants (much cheaper). There are food stores very near to the hotel so getting bits and pieces wasn't a problem. I felt it was a safe area, didn't see many tramps. Would use aparthotels again.

I stayed at The Muralto in June 2009. The suite had a small kitchen and a notice saying that anything we needed could be had from reception, although past experience means I tavel with a camp kettl.e, The room was serviced with clean towels every day even though this was not necessary. The staff were friendly and most spoke English if even a little. Soundproving in any apartment block can be a problem and noisy guests would be bothersome but we had no trouble.
We arrived late as our plane had been delayed and found a welcome reception with everything ready.

I was 2 weeks in Muralto and I enjoyed a lot. The room had a little kitchen with micro-waves e fridge nice for coockin. The room's have space and very clean. The location is great, 1 minuto we have metro, taxi, El Corte Inglês, Zara and a lot of pubs, restaurants, shops, very nice for tourism too, because it was 2 metro stations of the center (Puerta del Sol and Gran Via)

I've arrived to the hotel rather tired, after a transatlantic flight, not really having any expectations.

But...

Unfortunately, this place is an overpriced dump. Yes, it's close to Gran Via, however I've stayed on Gran Via for less money in nicer accomodations.

There is a kitchen in the room. Yippie.

The TV was broken. Well, I don't usually watch TV, however it may be an issue for some people. Sliding closet doors were broken as well. Luckily Samsonite garment bags convert into a hanging wardrobe...

The general feel of the room was one of a dirty place. Something like a roach motel. When you pay over 100 Euro per night, you want something a bit better than a roach motel.
