I have stayed here 2 times and thing its very good value for money. Firstly the rooms are a good size and with the kitchen its extremely handy for when you have a baby. Its close enough to pop into town on the tube or by taxi, or you can walk if the weather is good. I like it because its in a nice part of town. Its what I would call really functional, they are really efficient and although they don't have a restaurant, you don't really need it for where you are staying. Madrid has so many restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place.

This room is really good value. The location is only a short walk from the metro and a walkable distance to the old part of town. The staff were excellent. We dealt mainly with Roberto who was very helpful and spoke very good English. He also had a great sense of humour and was really good fun. For the price (we got a double for approx 60 euro per night), the room is great. It is true that the cheaper rooms don't have a view nor much light BUT they are quite a good size, have cooking facilities, and are clean. They also have in-room safes that are actually big enough to store a laptop and an SLR camera.

Aparto Suites Muralto made our stay in Madrid nice and relaxing. We had a 2-bedroom apartment and found the rooms quite satisfying – spacious, cleaned every day together with changing bed linen. Well-equipped kitchenette, iron and bathroom added comfort; you don/t have to pay monstrous charges for the laundry.
The reception service deserves special gratitude; we were made welcome at once. Polite and qualified, the receptionists provided us with any information, made reservations (i.e. for Toledo excursion) and were very helpful. We got the impression that Muralto functions as a well-run mechanism. It’s pleasant too, that the net info about them represents the facts!
I’d recommend Muralto apartments to anyone travelling on business or pleasure. Nice location too: close to historical center (plaza de España is within 5 minutes’ walk as well as El Corte Inglés and very quiet at the same time.
Tip: It’s not too expensive to travel by taxi in Spain, but if you want to make it cheaper, Ventura Rodriges metro station is only 2 blocks away.

I have just returned from staying 2 nights at the Muralto. I stayed with a friend and we had a twin room. The apartments are a 2 minute (if that) walk from Arguelles Metro station, which in turn is situated right next to a well equipped supermarket. From the airport it is 2 different lines on the Metro, which is easy enough to work out routes for. We got a 3 day ticket for I think 13€. The apartment had a bedroom, living/dining room, bathroom and very small kitchen. There was a 2 ring hob, microwave and fridge, which was fine for us as we were mainly eating out anyway. We did manage to cook spaghetti bolognese on our first night though! We called down to reception and asked for pots and pans which they sent up straight away. The only problem was they could not provide a kettle or toaster. We boiled water in a saucepan instead and made do with just bread. Free Wifi was a great bonus. Ask at reception for the code. All reception staff are very friendly and (unlike most people in Madrid) speak very good English. We were surprised that a lot of people do not speak English at all, but that just encourages you to brush up on your Spanish!

Things to do in Madrid:
-Temple of Debod (10 min walk) an old Egyptian temple with stunning views over the city.
-Zoo/Aquarium - best zoo I have ever been to with pandas, dolphins, sea lions, koala bears and many more amazing animals. Catch the Metro to Casa De Campo then either walk 15 mins or get the bus to the park.
-Parco Retiro - an afterthought for us but it is not as far as it looks on the map and has so much to look at including an amazing boating lake. The Metro takes you right into the park
-The Palace - was closed during our trip which was very disapppointing but it is amazing to look at anyway.
