The hotel is not close to touristic center, as Plaza Mayor or Del Sol, but it is close to the most fashionable street, Calle Serrano, with the most expensive stores, bars and restaurants. There is a subway station next to the hotel and that makes everything easier. But wherever we go it is worth to stay at this hotel.
The reception is very good, there was always someone by the door to help us with bags, cabs, directions, etc. The concierge was fantastic. They knew all the restaurants, bars and places we could request and quickly they got all the reservations and directions. The check in was fast and easy, although they charged an extra for a bed we wouldn’t even use. The lobby and all social areas were very elegant and charming.
The room was nice, with clean walls, curtains and furniture, but nothing surprising about décor. The surprises were on details like the Nespresso machine (although the four capsules were never replaced) and the elegant glasses for wine or whiskey. We stayed in a suite and there was a strange fact: the TV was completely installed at the right side of the room so the one who sleeps at the left side could not watch TV.
The bathroom was not spacious but the shower was fine, the towels, slippers and robes were good and the cosmetics line was extensive and wonderful, most of them by Bulgari.
The wi fi internet was very fast and reliable. The breakfast was amazing, beginning with cava, the Spanish champagne and finishing with Nespresso, including a great variety of breads, cheeses, jamon, fruits, cereals and hot dishes. That was the best breakfast I had in this trip to Spain.
