I stayed here back in 2004 and alot has changed since. The place seems to have been running with no investment since I left. When I was here in 2004 the hotel was in it's prime and the staff were all top class.
Now though things are very different. I was left at the bar for 10 minutes while the bar maid chatted to her friend. The next day no one was serving at the bar. The staff don't make eye contact. The restaurant staff don't speak English. The table cloths in the restaurant have holes in them. The flower vases on the table are chipped and glued back together. The beautiful chandlers have massive energy saving bulbs crammed into them or re-wired to fit somehow. The bathrooms are starting to look a little tired but the room sizes are still impressive and the furniture is more what you would expect of a 4 star hotel.
