“Well located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

This is a business type hotel quite near the city centre (10 minutes on the metro). It was clean and well maintained. There were many restaurants nearby. The problems were: (1) Check-in took half an hour; and (2) for parking one's car one has to enter the parking below, get the entry ticket, bring that to the hotel reception for signing and stamping, take that back to the parking attendant, get a new ticket for the duration of your stay. This takes at least half an hour.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the metro station for a good view.

“Decent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

The service is very professional, the rooms are a bit outdated for four star expectations but the location to a major metro station works in its favor. Overall a pleasant experience although will probably opt for an improved looking four star. It's also close to a few cafeterias and has a McDonald's, burger king and convenience store located nearby.

“More suited for business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

This is a typical business-style hotel with good, clean and spacious rooms. Placed at one of the corners of Plaza della Castilla, it can be easily reached from the airport both by metro and taxi.

They charge an extra of 20€ for breakfast but, at least on working days, there is a nice place,
Delina's, just aside the hotel for it. Wifi is free.

Due to its position and excellent connections, it's a very convenient location for visiting Madrid, especially if you grab some offers from internet; people that are low on budget or that are looking something more "charming" may want look somewhere else.

“Convenient location but you can do much better for your money in nearby hotels”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

The reception staff were pleasant and helpful, although, I queried the booking as I had booked a normal room with breakfast, when they checked, they advised it was a suite without breakfast despite having already given me the key for a normal room. The room was very dated and the heating didn't work properly, it was cold and when you switched on the heating, it only blew cold air... the porter showed me how to reset it but I ended up having to reset it several times in 3 days. I arrived late and was relieved to see the room service menu and that they served til 1 am. I rang at 10.45 pm and it just rang, I rang again a few minutes later still no answer... luckily there is a McDonald's next door. I went to the cafeteria for a quick coffee and ten minutes later still waiting, despite there only being 3 tables (only 1 of which were waiting for their order) and 3 members of staff. I later found a chain cafe around the corner and local restaurant behind the hotel. I ordered breakfast for 7 am one day as I had an early meeting, it arrived at 7.40... leaving me very little time to actually eat it and it wasn't what i asked for. The breakfast cost €13.50, you can get the same in the neighbouring establishments for less than €3! I was left one tatty looking bath towel, I have no problem reusing a towel but there is no heated towel rail to ensure that the towel is dry in time for the next use. All in all, a very poor show.

Room Tip: Great location but try one of the other nearby hotels .
