I enjoy staying at the Melia Galgos for the following reasons:
1. Good location by Calle Serrano in the Barrio Salamanca, the safest barrio in the center of town.
2. Wonderful breakfast buffet.
3. Friendly employees, also very professional.
I discovered another reason in my recent stay. There is a hotel restaurant called Diabolo in the basement. Never went there before because we are usually too busy and away from the hotel all day. However we tried it one day and were hooked, going there two more times.
The restaurant is spacious and elegant with pink marbleized walls. The food is very good and reasonably priced. There is a weekly menu that costs 26.50 euros, with a good variety of foods. Try the carrillera, a wonderful and very tender beef, with a great sauce that you will want to dry up with your bread!
