“Functional and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011 via mobile

My favourite hotel in Madrid was sold out and I opted for one near the meeting I was to attend. I booked a superior room which was spacious, clean and functional. The a/c is loud and I ended up opening the windows to cool down. The bed was very comfortable, if a bit creaky when I turned over!
The breakfast buffet was a work of art - a lovely spread with a fine choice of fruits, cereals, yoghurts, nuts, bread and juices. Scrambled egg and chorizo were also available.
The reception/lobby area is small.
Having stayed in many hotels in Madrid, this hotel is above the average and a good 'reserve' should my preference be booked again!

“Affordable, clean and quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

We had book a room well in advance in the dead season so we had a very good price. (60 euros/night). Very clean bedroom, Quiet at night. Make sure you book a room facing the street as the first room we were given was facing the courtyard was very dark and small. The man at reception didnt mind changing the room. The location is perfect. The breakfast was very expensive (18 euros) so I cannot comment on that. But overall, very satisfied. I have been to many hotels in the Salamanca district and it was by far, the best one.

“Excellent choice”

Because of the earlier reviwes, we were kind of skeptical about this hotel. But there waqs nothing to fear, we found. My and my wife stayed at NH Lagasca for 4 nights in May. There is not one thing bad to say about this hotel. Well, maybe one: there is no free wifi in the rooms, only at the lobby. With that exception, all the rest was just fine. Complete rooms, new and clean, very comfortable bed, good AC system (even though being centrally controlled), atentious staff, complimentary newspaper at the lobby and an excellent location at the heart of barrio Salamanca, full of stores and fine restaurants. Hotel hotel rests in a quiet and leavy street, no more that 5 min on foot to the nearest subway and 10-15 min to Retiro Park.

“Good location”

Friendly and helpful staff. Small and dark rooms if you are not facing the street. Calm, no noise or slamming doors. Good and clean bathrooms with bath and shower and nice fresh shower gel, soap and other useful toiletries (complimentary toothbrush & toothpaste, razor, sponge...). Good spacious closet with plenty of hangers, safe and extra pillow & blanket. Hard to carry suitcase up three steep steps to reach the elevator from the lobby.

“NH is no longer a choice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

I used to stay in NH Hotels in Spaim because they were nice and friendly, altough rooms were not large. This hotel is in the center of the Salamanca district, my favourite in Madrid, but I had to climb a flight of stairs with my bags to get to the elevator, the room was dark and the two beds were also small. The wortst thing was the staff so rude, never smiling and giving patronising looks to clients. I will not go back there again. Even the 15 minute complimentary internet service in the computer in lobby is now paid.I used to print my airline tickets after doing the check in online in the lobby and now you have to pay for everything. Breakfst was good but the price was high For 19 euros you get a nice breakfast anywhere and with better service.
