The Westin Palace truly does live up to its name. From start to finish this is one fine hotel. When we drove up our baggage and car were whisked away and we were treated to a wonderful experience in the heart of Madrid. The rooms were superb, well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was second to none and the lounge super relaxing. The Oriental restaurant was a little over rated but I suspect had an off night when we dined. The major problem with this establishment is that it was a little too comfortable so I had a hard time convincing my travel mate to get out to see the sights!!This property has hosted many famous and important personalities, which adds to the ambience, but none more so than my little buttercup, whom I might add did not threaten my well being in the dead of night due to some oversight by hotel staff.Thank-you Westin Palace!

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor by the clock tower. The hourly chimes we found to be very melodic and r...

“Surprisingly Great”

I chose this hotel because of its location close to the Prado, Reina Sofia and the Atocha train station. I read most of the TripAdvisor reviews on this property prior to arriving. The manager allowed us to check in early after an overnight flight. Our room was upgraded and was very nice. The "Heavenly Bed" was extremely comfortable. The reception staff were helpful as was the concierge, Ricardo. We were very happy with our dinner under the rotunda our first night. The concierge recommended the restaurant, Viridiana. I was torn trying to find a great restaurant on my own and Ricardo solved the problem. This restaurant was great! The Westin's breakfast buffet was good, but not a great value. Our room was not worn. The bathroom was very nice and very clean. The maids on the fourth floor were extremely helpful. Last year I stayed at the #1 TripAdvisor hotel in Madrid and this was much better. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Become a Starwood member and you will be upgraded. There is free WiFi at the Starbucks around the c...

“Luxury Hotel but the rooms are a little worn....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Excellent hotel and excellent location, just in front of “Neptune Fountain” and walking distance from “Cibeles Fountain”, Thyssen Museum, Prado.......

The staff were very kind and knowledgeable.

But the room.... a little worn, they are asking for a refurbishment, except the beds, the “heavenly beds” were superb.

The Bar at the hotel is quite expensive. The first day we ordered two cocktails, never again....

Overall, a luxury hotel.

“A Must stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

You'll definiely look down at other hotels once you've stayed at the Westin Palace Madrid. This is a gorgeous GORGEOUS hotel and the most luxurious hotel I've stayed by far! The staff are really friendly and speak good English. Some don't speak that well but still try their best to give you the best service one could hope for. Concierge is wonderful and able to help you out in almost anything! Reception is veryinformative and makes you feel welcome the moment they see you. Definitely a must stay! The room is gloriously like a palace!
