“Great Hotel - Perfect location”

Stayed here for a couple of nights between xmas and new year with my girlfriend to celabrate our engagement.

Had a room on the top floor with a jacuuzi on the balcony which was great.

Room was spotless and plenty big enough for two

Hotel reception was always manned and happy to help

Location is the key to this hotel. you can see the royal palace from the hotelo and there are numberous bars and restraunts all around the hotel

The bar attached to the hotel is always busy and reasonably priced

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Madrid as i found it to be great value for money considering its location and quality. Couldn't have asked for better

“3 star bed in 4 star hotel”

Its a decent hotel but I was a little disappointed. The photos from website didn't match our expectations. Bed wasn't comfortable. Breakfast wasnt impressive. The singing dinner at night in the cafe was definitely the highlight and being close to the Royal Palace.

We stayed for 3 nights and then returned a week and a half later for another night. The hotel is is greatly situated for a tourist. The rooms are modern and clean. The hotel breakfast bar the best we experienced in Spain of the 9 hotels we stayed in. The staff was friendly and helpful. And - the price for the room was very reasonable compared to everywhere else we stayed in Spain. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We traveled with others and everyone said there room was quiet. The elevators can be a little slow a...

“Good hotel in great location ... but ....”

I have just spent 5 nights at the Hotel Opera in Madrid over the holiday season. The hotel is nicely decorated, clean and situated in an excellent location in central Madrid, a few minutes walk from main shopping streets and major attractions.

I must however point out 2 clear negatives:
1. Internet service, although included in the room price, was terrible: slow, often without any signal and the daily code per each device is very annoying.
2. Breakfast was not up to standard of a 4-star city hotel.

Room Tip: We had a very spacious room but some other friends were in extremely small rooms so you may wish to...

“stayed 2009, lovely modern hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

this review is rather late, but when I stayed in March 2009 I found the hotel opera a great place to stay on my first trip to Madrid. location near the palace and opera house meant nice choice of restaurants on the doorstep and easy transport connections.
unlike many hotels we viewed, we liked the modern style of Hotel Opera, which was classic and unpretentious. good provision of services (wifi, toiletries, etc) and friendly staff.
Would stay again and recommend. Good value for money
