There are not very many hotels in the world where all you need to do when you check in is to pick up your key card, and off you go to your room. That is great service. Well, maybe it is because I have stayed in this hotel many many times the last decade. Still, one cannot ignore this service.
The rooms are not large but they are comfortable. Sometimes they place two beds when I need one king size bed, but generally these beds are comfortable and the pillows are plentiful.
The hotel is somewhere in between Prado and Puerta del Sol. If you are a jazz afficionado, it is also close to the Plaza de la Angel where Cafe Central is located (just off the square). There is nightly live jazz in Cafe Central and generally the acts are from top local artists.
Do not expect, however, a great breakfast. Sometimes the coffee can be bad. And sometimes the staff can be Kate in replacing th buffet items. But the dishes are well made and of sufficient variety.
Kubi wireless is available for Internet connection but it is not for free. It is also sometimes difficult to connect.
This hotel could be an excellent one, but it's not there yet. But it is my favorite hotel. It may not be the best hotel, but it sure makes me feel at home.
