Hard to find but great place, right near main attractions behind two famous plazas where you'll find a lot of activities, popular place to hang out, people watch, shop, dine, etc.

Modern room w/chandelier hanging from ceiling, flat screen TV, we had our own bathroom. They supplied soap, shampoo & conditioner, and linens. Hard wood floors. No breakfast or real area to socialize if you're looking for that sort of atmosphere in a hostel. There was an area on our floor w/a computer to use free of charge w/internet and two chairs, but not really a hang out type of place. No elevator either. bring ear plugs, walls are pretty thin so we could hear others and they were also doing construction, which was pretty loud.

Overall it was a great place to stay and would definitely stay there again and recommend to others!

I went to Hostal Santa Ana with my sister and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is in the very centre of Madrid, has no elevator (3rd floor), very clean rooms with a rather small bathroom and a big bed. Very friendly staff and free wifi. Due to it's central location it is a bit noisy (until 2-3am) but you're supposed to be hitting the bars and clubs anyway at this time.

We stayed at Hostal Adria Santa Ana in Madrid in May 2010.
The hostal is well located in central Madrid with many tapas bars, shopping and attractions alll a short walk away. The rooms are lovely, small but everything needed and decoated very nicely. The bathroom only has rrom for one person at a time. A great, well located budget option in Madrid, very clean, blocks out noise from the street but so close to everything.
Tip: Malaspina Tapas bar nearby is one of the best in Madrid.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a total of 9 nights and we found it to be just what we hoped for. The staff was helpful and the location was perfect; we could walk anywhere we needed to in the city and the metro stop is very close. The room we stayed in was private with a private bathroom and was always clean. The AC worked wonderfully and the safe was easy to use. This hostal is as good or better than many hotels we have stayed in and the price is really good for what you get. No complaints whatsoever.
