The hotel is on the main street, the Gran Via, near the historic area of town. The hotel was very clean and had tolietries in the bathroom. We were upgraded to a larger room for four people even though we only had three people. Room was quiet.

The Hotel Carlton Rioja is located on the main avenue of Logroño, the Gran Via. This is where many of the stores are located. It is also not too far from the historic center, where most of the sights of the city are concentrated, such as the churches.

The hotel is a bit dated but the staff were very friendly, especially in the dining room. The food was quite good and the service was excellent. Our room was quite adequate for a 4 star hotel.

Convenient, good location and good service. This hotel is right smack in the middle of town with all the conveniences of being in the city yet close enough for a nice stroll through the old town. Strange thing about the locked minibar though and you need a code to access the wi-fi, cumbersome enough that you don't want to bother with either. Bathrooms are very clean with small amenities included. Ask hotel about parking if going there with your own car, frontliners are very helpful. Basic and comfortable, well-lit, safe and provides a nice "solid" feeling which is important if you've been hopping from one hotel to another.

We stayed here during the 2007 San Farmines festival in Pamplona. the price was MUCH lower than comparable hotels in Pamplona for that time period. We didn't mind the 45 minute drive, since we often rent a car in our travels (which would make the parking in this hotel very convenient).

I actually found it to be a delightful hotel and would rate it on the lower end of the 4 star scale. The staff were very friendly even though not too many people in Logrono speak English. The location is great and we were able to find little bars, cafe's and restaurants within a 5 minute walking distance from the hotel. Everything in Logrono is extremely inexpensive compared to Madrid and Barcelona and the people are great, so don't be shy and adventure out and eat at different places. There's actually a cute little bar/restaurant right across the street from this hotel - say hi to William (the owner) if you drop by - great guy.

This little city is actually one of my favorite hidden gems in Spain and would definitely recommend staying there for a few nights and trying the great wines the Rioja region has to offer. We were also very impressed with the number of people (young to old couples) walking hand in hand in the street and the Friday night Tapas fiestas (again a few minute walk from the hotel) where kids and parents all party together!
