Having read the tripadvisor reviews, I managed to get a price of 66 euros a night on Orbitz. Since I book 99% of my hotels directly, usually on arrival, this made me nervous. However, due to the many pilgrims coming through, reservations are a good idea - the hotel fully booked up in advance.
I was entirely happy on arrival. Check-in was a breeze, and my room was great. This is a business chain, so there was not much character, but it was spacious, with a comfortable bed, great bathroom, and good aircon. My room faced the back, so no street noise at all, or noise from other rooms.
The lobby is multi-leveled, with sitting areas, and a free computer to use. It was fancy, but in a business sense (I normally like old fashioned hotels and pensiones). One unusual thing was they had a key you had to leave, not a card.
The location couldn't be better. It is on the edge of the old city, in the heart of the new one. and right on the El Camino. Within easy walking distance of everything. The bus station is about a 15 minute walk, and train 5 minutes further.
I found Logrono to be a great city. The casca antiguo wasn't much, but the "new" city is actually very nice. If you just like experiencing Spain, this is a great place.
Best of all, you can follow the El Camino through a large park, out into the country side, to a state park. It's a great walk.
