We loved the hotel, rooms and location.
Big rooms with a large bath and comfortable bed.
Easy walking distance from restaurants and attractions.

The staff was the only disappointment.
They were rude, provided to assistance in locating landmarks or booking wine tours. We specifically stayed here because it was recommended that they could be of assistance in getting reservations at local wineries.
The desk staff simply does NOT want to be bothered.

Lovely modern hotel with very large rooms. The location is excellent - only 5 minutes walk to the pedestrianised old town which is full of restaurants and bars. We were pleasantly surprised by this area - on a midweek night in early September, it was buzzing, with most bars very lively until at least midnight (when we gave up!). Service in the hotel is excellent and in terms of the price and value combination, it would be hard to beat. The only downside was the lack of parking - as in most cities, on street parking is difficult in central areas, so we were advised by reception to park in the public car park down the street where there was plenty of space.

On April 14-18th 2011 we visited Logrono and we stayed at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service we received and the amazing quality of their restaurant (El Zarcillo).

Just about everything was better than all other four star hotels we stayed at in our trip. The rooms were very nice if somewhat small (usually the case in Europe), very clean and modern, and the staff always responded well to our special requests. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and well supplied with toiletries. The breakfast buffet was the best we encountered, not only all the ingredients were fresh and of fine quality, but also beautifully arranged and displayed. We particularly enjoyed having eggs prepared by special request.

One day we decided to eat at the restaurant and we had the day's menu. It was great, very well prepared, beautifully served, and with excellent wine. We were sorry we did not have another opportunity to eat there since the restaurant closes during the weekends. I must add that the ambience of the restaurant and the hotel in general are just superb.

Mi only criticism is that they were somewhat slow everyday cleaning the room, somedays it was after 1 PM that they got around to it.

The hotel also has a very good location just outside the historical center and close to the Ebro river. No doubt, if we are ever again in Logrono, we will return to the Herencia Rioja.

I was only going to give this hotel 4 points, but on a price quality basis its one of the best we have stayed at for a while so upped it to 5. Its a very solid 4 star quality and better than most of the Mercure and Novatel 4 stars we have used in France. Location is excellent a very short to the bars and restaurants and to the lovely park alongside the river Ebro. Although the buffet has no hot dishes the quality of the cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, pastries etc is good. Logrono is quite a nice city and very Spanish, it was very convenient for visiting the Rioja region. We would highly reccomend a visit to the wine museum at the Bodegas Dinastia Vivanco, Briones. The Bodegas Darien are also interesting on the outskirts of the city. This ultra modern winery produces a superb Reserva which gets accolades from the wine critic Robert Parker and is a bargain at 12 euros per bottle. Oh I nearly forgot we had a free mini bar for 2 nights in the weekend rate!
