What a shame is because this should have been excellent, unfortunately we booked a double room with the preference of a sea view. Upon arrival the girl on reception was excellent very friendly & efficient, we were given our key only to find upon entering the room it was a twin with a rock view!
I went back to the desk & politely explained to the girl what had happened, she called the duty manager who was a very rude man who began to chant "you tell me where it says a sea view" x 2. I was taken back a little but did produce my paper work where I had requested "a double room overlooking the straights if possible" his manner did improve slightly at this point & he said it would not be a problem to source a double room but it would not be with a sea view.
We did complete the hotel satisfaction survey & had hoped for an apology ( December 2011) but to date we have not recieved one!
Putting this experience aside this is an excellent hotel with very friendly & accommadating staff. Great location only minutes walk from all the shops & close to a bus stop giving full access to all the sites.
The breakfast was (sorry to use the word again) excellent with a good choice of hot & cold food.
The room was very spacious with a table & 2 chairs, everything was in good working order with a nice powerful hot shower & everything was replenished daily, plenty of tea & coffee etc.
We ate in the bar a couple of times & the food was, yes excellent as was the service. There are also several places in the town to eat, in fact you are spoilt for choice! Especially in Irish town.
If you get a chance do the dolphin cruise, we went with Dolphin World & it was just amazing. If you go on the cable car you can purchase a joint ticket which is cheaper!
We would definately use this hotel again.
