I had to be in vigo for a conference in september 2009. I was reviewing hotels on-line a few months prior to my trip, but procrastinated too long and by the time i got around to booking all the reasonable-rate hotels (i.e. 100-150 euros) were booked. I wanted to stay someplace centrally located and close to the water, so went ahead and paid the 200 euros (300 dollars) for a room, even though it seemed kind of high compared to the other hotels i had investigated.

Hotel was nice, clean, and almost across the street from the water and harbor. The very nearby (25 yards) street running adjacent to the ocean has a lot of bars and restaurants, which was convenient since it's a short and nice walk for food and drink. This is not a beach area and the view of the water is obstructed by a park, boats, buildings, etc, so don't expect beach front property.

The size of the room was smaller than rooms in madrid and barcelona. Unfortunately the desk was too small to use, and there wasn't a comfortable chair or place to sit. Not a good room if you have down-time in vigo, since there is no place to work or relax.

Service was great. Bell and front desk staff were always helpful and spoke english. Breakfast was a sufficient but uninspiring and expensive (22 euros) buffet. Didn't try the restaurant for other meals. The room service menu looked limited, but the prices seemed reasonable and cheaper than laundry service (6.50 per shirt, 8 for pants).

According to the tv channel guide there were supposed to be a few english channels, including bbc and cnn. Only english channel was eurosport, which was fine since the tv was only 12 inches anyways. Not a huge issue, but for the price of the room i expect nicer amenities.

Free wireless internet. Worked well in the lobby but signal was too weak in my room.

Overall, nice hotel, great service and location, but there have got to be better values in vigo.

I stayed here with 5 other people in August of 2005 for one night. The location was great, right across the street from the harbor. There was a huge park your self lot across the street. Tons of restaurants and bars around the corner from the hotel. All three rooms that we had had really nice and modern bathrooms. The rooms were your basic european hotel room, with 2 twins pushed together to make up a king sized bed. The staff was friendly, but I didn't require most of their services. The free breakfast was pretty good, definitely didn't leave there hungry. If you can, definitely take the ferry for the day to the Cies Islands, they are beyond gorgeous!
