We were arriving on a late flight and decided to pick a hotel near the airport bus-stop. The Horreo was only a few steps away, which was perfect. It is also very convenient for the old town and the railway station. There is a 24hr reception, although you must use the doorbell and wait for the door to be opened. No-one spoke English, but all the staff were helpful and patient. We liked our room on the front of the hotel on the first floor, although if you are staying on a Saturday evening and are a light sleeper, you might want to request a room at the back, away from noisy revellers. Our room was immaculately clean. We had a TV and a nice bathroom with bath. We used the internet free in the hotel foyer.
Included in the price was breakfast, which is quite unusual in a small modestly priced place like this. It was simple, but nice- just cereal and toast with juice and coffee. Enough to put you on until you seek out the best 'menu del dia' at lunchtime.
When I was trying to book the hotel I went through all the usual sites, but it wasn't available. Eventually I used CostaSur and booked it through them with no problem. I have used that site before and it lists a lot more accommodation, including budget options.
All in all the hotel proved to be a very good choice and was good value for money.
