we spent a very nice holiday to Santiago and this hotel was very clean , the staff friendly and carefully .
The hotel is near the old city center. For us, 10 or 15 minutes walking were a pleasure in this beautiful city.

Stayed here at the end of walking the Camino de Santiago. Hostal Mexico is only about a 10-15 minute walk from the cathedral, in a nice neighborhood, and very close to the train station. I was quite comfortable and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but was totally adequate for me. Great value for 35 Euros.

I was really impressed by the Hostal Mexico. I couldn't get the online booking form to work so booked directly with the hotel by phone but still received the online rate. This hotel was approximately half the price of most others in Santiago (many of them with a lower star rating) for a single room and so I was very impressed with what I got. The room was spotlessly clean as were all public areas. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and powerful and the breakfast, although small, was fine. There was also a free safe in the room.
I had initially debated over booking this hotel as it is not located in the historic part of the city but it is only about ten minutes on foot to the old town and it is located in the main shopping area of the city. I would definitely stay there again.

Accomodation good value and clean. Reception on 4th floor - lift available - we had a triple room ensuite for 75 euros. Beds were comfortable and shower fine - we had a spacious balcony in front with garden table and chairs as well but weather too wet to ernjoy

It's about 10 minutes walk from the train station, which is also a drop off point for bus from airport, just follow roadway to left, cross road around garage and straight up street - this will cross CAlle republica and the hotel is a little on right. Its 10 minutes walk to the centre cathedarl area. Break fast is extra and next door in the cafe which was fine
