I got married in Santiago de compostela, and chose to stay at the AC Palacio del Carmen for my last night of being a Miss!
The check in was quick and easy, and they have a number of staff who can speak a little English, so my Spanish being far from perfect, we got by! The room was a suite as I needed the space for my bridal trousseau and a bridemaid and her things. The room was lovely, well furnished, an amazing bathroom and a huge bed! Super King size I think!
The staff were great, I had in excess of 20 friends and family for an inpromptu hen party in the drinks lounge late afternoon, this caused no problems and they were extremely friendly.
My bridesmaid and I ate dinner in the restaurant that evening and we were not disappointed. As my now husband's family are from this region I have had most of the dishes in some shape or form before, but the taster menu was very good quality of favourite galician cuisine. The wine is immense- I tend to sip a Martin Codax as I like it alot! Dinner was as you would expect from a 5 star and came to about 80 Euros for two with wine.
The only reason I have given the sleep quality 4/5 is that I didnt sleep very well as it was the night before my wedding- but the room was to a very high standard and had amazing views of the cathedral.
Breakfast wasn't included, and came to 14.95 Euros and was pretty good for that price considering what was included. Plates of various cheeses and hams, pastries and savouries...I only wish that I could have eaten more of it as I was feeling a bit nervous by this point!
I probably would come here again, as a treat only though as it was fairly hefty check out bill, but worth it for a special occasion. There is a pool, turkish bath ie steam room, but we didnt venture there as my hair was done and up ready for the hairdresser the following morning.
