This is a good value one star hotel in an excellent location. We had a large room with a modern bathroom and a very good shower. Furnishing is on the minimal side with nowhere to sit but the beds are comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff are helpful and speak excellent English. The public area is very limited and the breakfasts poor - but there are plenty of alternatives nearby and at the price you can afford to cut your losses with the breakfast. For a one star hotel, it is a good choice.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night in Santigado. It has a good location, very close from the Cathedral, shops, & restaurants (5 minutes).
The staff is friendly but, as many hotels in Santiago, the prices are above the average. The room was ok, big size, very clean, as well as the bathroom.
The breakfast was normal, included on the price.
Friendly hotel, nothing special.

This is a lovely budget hotel, on the edge of the old city of Santiago de Compostela, just a short walk from the Cathedral and other sights.

The room looked recently renovated with a large, spotlessly clean, modern bathroom. Though the room was rather sparsely furnished, only the bed, queen size though, bedside tables, TV, and footstool - no telephone, table/desk, or chairs - it was comfortable.

Staff were very friendly, spoke excellent English, and extremely helpful.

On the downside, when booking ask for a room at the back. My room, 103, was on the street side and the constant noise from traffic and pedestrians made sleep difficult.

Situated a stone’s throw from the old centre of Santiago and a short walk from the famous cathedral, the Avenida is a very pleasant little hotel. We stayed in Room 101 at the rear of the property – far preferable to street facing rooms which suffer some traffic noise. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a nice bathroom that was blessed with a reliable hot water supply. The floor was beautiful – varnished original floorboards but they creaked like an old man’s bones!
Breakfast was okay. Nothing to write home about. An egg, an egg – my kingdom for an egg!
Staff in this hotel were friendly and respectful – making you feel that your custom was genuinely appreciated – not always the case is it?
Nearby there are many drinking bars, tapas bars and small restaurants – often seafood specialists – but as Christendom’s third most holy city, Santiago is never likely to be a rowdy place. It is a small city, attractive, interesting but not really a place you’d want to visit for more than two days in my view. There’s so much else to see in Galicia.
