“Not what I expected based on all the positive reviews”

I selected Pazo Cibran based on reviewer feedback. I agree the owners are very kind and provide a very nice buffet breakfast but our room did not look like the pictures on the website. It was the size of a postage stamp with 1960's like decor, like wood panelled walls though it was clean. The floor boards creak throughout so we heard every guest walking up the stairs (our room was at the top of the stairs). We could hear conversations in the breakfast / living room because of the atrium-like design. Also, I could only get WiFi access in the living room if I sat by a window. We had planned to stay 2 nights but left after 1 night when we could not get a larger room. If you decide to stay here, ask for a larger room, not room #9.

“A perfect end for a dream vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

We selected Pazo Cibran for the last night of our Green Coast tour of northwestern Spain - and it was a wonderful choice! We arrived in mid-afternoon and were warmly greeted by Fatima, who showed us to our lovely and spotless room. With a glass-walled balcony, flowing gauzy curtains, overlooking the lush landscape, this was not an inn trying to be "country" - it was the real thing! Pazo Cibran is located in an orchard/vineyard, and surrounded for miles by same. It's less than 100 meters from Meson Roberto, an amazing country restaurant, where we were treated like royalty at dinner (menu degustacion out of this world!). Returning to our room, we slept comfortably and awoke to bird song and an incomparable breakfast. The owner, Maica, was warm and genuinely interested in us and made us believe that she really hopes to see us again. A fitting end to a dream-like stay in Spain, and an easy drive to A Coruna's airport, which was the only reason we regretfully left when we did.

“A special place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

A place full of character and charm, the personal hospitality of Maica, rural peace & quiet while only 10 minutes away from Santiago de Compostela, great breakfast, amazing restaurant next door in an old mansion (Roberto's). There simply is no reason not to book your stay here if you're a fan of rural tourism. It helps though if you speak a bit of Spanish as English is not really spoken here.

“Lovely property outside Santiago”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

This is a rural property 5 km south of Stgo. de Compostela, ideal for those travelling with a car. Maica, the owner, is extremely helpful, and the breakfast is very good.
The property has been in Maica's family for many years and has the charm of the old but well kept, with a lovely garden. The living room is always full of flowers.

“Best of Galician hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2010

Stayed at Pazo Cibran with my parents for 4 nights during the Carnival season (mid February). We were the only guests at that point in time and Maica went over and beyond to make us feel at ease, relaxed and comfortable. Food is delicious (this is Galicia, after all!) and the home made "orejas" - typical Carnival sweet- reminded me of all the years I lived with my parents in the North of Spain...last time I ate them was 5 years ago!. I was able to take a few back to the UK and Maica also sourced some of that nice "hogaza" - very nice bread-. Pazo Cibran is very well situated at the outskirts of Santiago, great for sightseeing the area, included Costa da Morte. Maica provoded you as many directions as required, as well as some hidden gems to visit on route!
