“A wonderful place to stay!”

Our stay at this charming little hotel was our first weekend in Spain. It started off our vacation perfectly. In fact we thought Santiago was our favorite city in part because of the Hotel. First class service, they went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Helpful directions and restaurant choices. They even had our favorite table ready for us at breakfast. If your staying in Santiago, stay here! We had three more weeks in Spain, and no other hotel was as mush fun.

Room Tip: Ask for the room over looking the garden, it even had a little sitting area.

“The place to stay”

Costa Vella its a charming hotel in Santiago old city. Very well located, beautiful garden, great common areas. The staff was very nice and friendly with great tips of where to eat. The breakfast is a must that you shouldnt loose.
The only drawback was the room facing the pedonal street, with some noise.

“Tireless service, beautiful gardens”

I visited the Costa Vella at Christmas time for a family reunion, and by the end of the week, the staff felt like family too. Powering the first-class personal service was Roberto, who is a lovely guy and, unsurprisingly, a regular marathon runner. Even on Christmas Eve, he was running around the place to make sure we were comfortable and happy before going home for dinner with his own family (leaving us his phone number, of course).

A perfect place to sleep, eat, relax and plan your days in Santiago. Go.

“Best. Christmas. Ever.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

A 5-star experience at a VERY reasonably priced B&B.

My wife and I booked a five day Christmas stay as it's our son's first Christmas day ever. Along came both sets of grandparents, an uncle, aunty and great-aunty. Coordinating the rooms, a cot, travel advice and even a buffet for Christmas Eve was all faultless. Easily handled before we got there by email and phone, and then later when we needed an eight seater people carrier at no-notice the day after Christmas Day, that wasn't a problem either.

All the rooms were great, laundry delivered sameday, and the breakfast (especially for EUR 5.50 a pop) was tremendous. Having a bar/cafe on the ground floor, with a view of their wonderful garden was especially handy even though the best tapas in Spain is being served in the bars just a few minutes walk away.

While Susana and others helped too, the real driving force behind the best of our experiences was Roberto. Among other things, he was the one who welcomed us, insisted on carrying all our luggage, advised on the best jogging routes, found a booster seat for our son, made sure our glasses were always full, reserved a table at the best suckling pig restaurant in town, and let us know about events we might find interesting in the coming days.

If you're planning on visiting Santiago, scroll up this page and follow the link to their website now. Even if you can't get a room, a visit to their bar and garden (they're located just inside the pedestrianised medieval old town area, 15 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes' walk from the cathederal) is a great way to chill out. But of course it might just lead you to regret the rest of what you're missing.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear have a great view of the garden and medieval architecture. There's no lift so...

“Guests will surely want to return...”

This little gem has lots of charm, a great location, and a wonderfully accommodating staff. We were in Santiago to attend a wedding and needed help with the logistics of coordinating with other guests as well as transportation. Several staff members each went the extra mile for us....and most importantly, with a very gracious spirit. We took the attic room which is cute and cozy, not attic-like at all. The whole place is clean and has a relaxing garden in the rear. No complaints from us, and we will definitely stay at Costa Vella if we once again find ourselves in Santiago de Compostela.
