My wife and I stayed at the Ciudad de Compostela, part of the Husa organisation, for 11 nights in March this year. The hotel is fairly new - it opened in 1999. The room was good, with a mini-bar and TV. There was also piped music either pop or classical. It was a slight surprise that there was no bidet in the shower/toilet. We thought the
price, 50€ + 7% IVA was very reasonable. The food was also excellent usually. We had the menu del dia almost every day for 10€ + 7% IVA.
The main course was almost always either fish or pork, but the fish varied. One meal, the fish did not taste fresh, and a beef stew was way too salty. The cafe provided excellent coffee very inexpensively.
The only gripes we had were the traffic noise and the lack of English
channels on the TV. We were on the second floor facing the main road and the traffic noise was very loud. As it was not too hot, there was no problem in having the windows shut, but it could be different in summer as there is no air-conditioning. The staff were very helpful, but only one spoke really good English.
