My wife and I stayed at the Gelmirez for two nights in May having booked by the hotels website. The website led us astray a little, although the hotel is ideally placed (three minutes, uphill, to the centre where all the bars and sights are) the hotel struggled to offer the facilities advertised. We got there at 10.30 am and our room wasn't available, thats not a problem but they couldn't even provide a coffee as the Cafe doesn't open until the evening. The rooms were clean and adequate although our double bed was two singles with separate bedding, pushed together. Although I don't visit these places to watch TV it would be nice if they had at least one English speaking TV Channel as to my knowledge there were at least 30 english people alone in the hotel while we were there. The first evening we returned to the hotel at 11.15pm to have a night cap in the bar, only to be told it closed at 11 pm.
I booked an internet room rate but on check out they charged me another! Some of the staff were helpful but to others we appeared to be a hinderance.
We really enjoyed the trip, the hotel just wasn't as good as we would have expected.
