When booking our rooms for Galicia, we were looking for internet and swimming pools.
Late June and early July in Galicia were apparently very cool this year. As a result, we specifically asked the staff if the pool was heated (after sticking a toe in while it was closed midday for chemicals to be added). We were told definitely yes, it was heated. It most decidedly was NOT heated.
The original listing doesn't show internet, but the Hesperia chain info states that it has internet at its city hotels. Well, there was only wireless, and according to the rest of the super techie geeks in my family, it was too low band width going out of the hotel...basically useless!! We couldn't even retrieve mail from Comcast. They need to purchase more band width. Their explanation that the service was slow because of too many people using it was incorrect.
There are about 12-15 free parking places in front of the hotel, but parking is also available for a fee if those are filled. The hotel is on the main road coming into town and is easy to get to.
We did not appreciate how at check-in were pressured to take the 8E breakfast at the "special rate" available then and only then. No word of what was available at breakfast...We passed and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast (3.5E) of fresh juice, coffee and a croissant at a non-smoking bake shop on the next block.
Other than than the breakfast bit, the staff was friendly and helpful.
It wasn't expensive, but it wasn't particularly notable.
