“Parador lifestyle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2008

Very nice hotel.
very clean, it's a selected place to go! Stylish, it's a parador style. We liked the experience and we tend to go to other paradors.

Problems: we booked "escapada joven" and for this they only had rooms in the first floor with view to a wall!! they said the hotel was full, but we bookmarked 3 weeks early, so....
The photos you see in the web-site of this parador, gives you the idea that is a very peaceful zone, it is indeed, but you have not a good facility to park the car, its all very narrow because it's in the center of Ferrol, so it's not like you think it.

But its good, we don't say we'd get there again, but we're getting to experience another parador, maybe Lugo.

“Not a great area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2008

The location is not the best. The Parador is in between a military base and the industrial port. With that said, all you see from the pretty valconies/windows are cranes and cargo ships. Some Friendly staff, very nice server at dinner. We like a quiet place to relax and enjoy, however; been the only ones having dinner downstairs at the restaurant was not what we were looking for. We had a Junior Suite(bedromm with a living room next to it. It was spacious and clean. The bathroom was huge. Air conditioning worked fine. The bartender was not friendly at all and it seem bother when we ask for a drink, but then you are in Spain. There is no customer service. It was raining that day so teenagers decided to hang out at the entrance of the Parador, luting the stairways and not moving out of the way for the guests to walk by.

“comfort at bargain price”

The town of Ferrol was not the liveliest place in galicia, but the parador was a comfortable stopping off point. Warmly welcomed and assistance given with parking. The rooms very spacious and atention to detail without being fussy. The breakfast was great... buffet style in large airy room overlooking the garden and eventually the sea. Very reasonable, said was 3 star, felt more like 4. My boyfriend and I benefitted from the 33% discount offer as are under 30 years of age.

“Great Hotel, Boring City!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2007

We stayed in Ferrol on our way from north-central Spain (Limpias) to Porto in Portugal. We decided to tour this rather untoured area of northern spain and so we took the long way around the coast instead of heading in a straight line.

The Parador in Ferrol is a great hotel. The room is very comfortable, the atmosphere is fantastic with all the maritime furniture and pictures on the walls. The room is of nice size and the bathroom is rather small but adequate (as opposed to the other paradors we visited, where the bathrooms were enormeous and very well maintained.

The hotel is spotless but there is a serious parking problem there since the parking lot is rather small is and is shared with the Spanish navy, which doesn't allow anyone to park in their spaces, even on weekends (the guard yelled at us for trying).

The Parador is hard to find and thank god we had the GPS to help us navigate the tiny streets and alleys.

Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.

Ferrol itself is nothing more than a shipyard town. Very gray and boring. Avoid unless you have a specific reason for being there.

“Great service”

We thoroughly enjoyed our night here. The restaurant in the parador was terrific, with good food and very personal service, and the room was totally comfortable, as all paradors were on our visit to Spain.
