We took the airport bus into town (feared transfer not needed), and with some helpful pointing by the driver found the hotel without too much trouble. The location is really nice: next to the main beach's mid-point, pleasing walk to the cafés and then downtown.
On check in, though we'd reserved a regular double room, we were bumped to a jr suite on the 2nd floor overlooking Plaza de Pontevedre on one side, and a view to the bay on the other. Score! So we're not sure how representative our room was of most. The room was great: an entrance room for separation from the hallway, front sitting room with big windows and a view, bedroom with a comfortable bed and more windows, nice hardware in the bathroom. Most windows swiveled open and were of stout quality - though not all city noise was eliminated.
We made the mistake of taking a quick nap with the windows open: traffic noise soon forced them closed. One downside of our room's location was it overlooked an exit for a tunnel and thus lots of cars came past below. But that was more to watch from our perch.
The front staff weren't warm, but were helpful. Upon request they called ahead to confirm our next hotel since we spoke no Spanish and they no English. Also, hey, they bumped us to a suite.
Didn't try the restaurant, but due to previous recommendation here did find across the plaza the Manhattan Plaza for breakfast: it was mid-priced, good, and interesting in a nice way.
