We have recently moved to Spain and unfortunately have been booked into this hotel for 5 weeks while we wait for our apartment to be ready.
The hotel itself is in a great location as far as seeing everything A Coruna has to offer, the room is cleaned every day to a reasonable standard. The room service is prompt and food quality not bad for the price. The internet works in your room, drops out occassionally, no big deal.
The main issue I have with this hotel is the noise level, you can seriously (no exaggeration!) hear the person in the room above you and the room next door evacuate their bladder, bowels & even fart & cough! You can hear every conversation they have, you can hear the TV show they are watching. Every door in the corridor slams loudly. After 3 weeks of getting approx. 4 hours sleep a night with another 2 weeks stay to go, I am ready to jump out my 7th floor window!
DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to get some sleep when you go to bed (eg if you have to go to work in the morning).

We stayed in hesperia a coruna in june of 2010. The hotel was centrally located around everything. it was clean and the beds were comfy.
The tv didn't have too many channels and the ones that worked were either of sports, the news or a spanish soap opera ( all in spanish).
The bathroom was very clean, the shower had great pressure, and the bath robes were an extra little luxury.
right across the street is a small grocery store which has amazing fresh bread baked daily. If your from canada you know that wine and cheese are a bit pricy, but in spain its cheaper than water. I would go across the street and get break wine and cheese and have that for lunch.
we used the hotel restaurant a couple of times, it wasnt anything over the top but it was ok when it rained outside.
there are great restaurants within 15 min walking distance and great shopping stores.
all in all an amazing trip at a great city that not many know about.

I was concerned to read bad reviews about this hotel but they were right. Our bedroom floor was disgusting - badly stained, with a drawing pins, tooth picks just waiting to be trodden on. Very mean on the toiletries too. General cleanliness of the room was very poor.

We had stayed in this hotel 3 times previously about 3 years ago, so were quite happy to try it again. How I wish we had not. This hotel was once good. It is now a dirty, badly run hotel with an arrogant, insolent manager and a management team who have no regard for their guests.

The carpets and floors in our room were filthy and not cleaned throughout our stay. They were so dirty that my wife stepped on an old pin and bled on the carpet. The blood is still there. There was nobody in the hotel who would assist and no first aid was available. The hotel offered no apology, even when we contacted the Head Office at director level.

The towels appear to be as old as the hotel. They should have been replaced years ago.

It should be considered that this hotel is on one of the busiest corners in the centre of A Coruna. It is very noisy.

The rooms on one side of the hotel are very dark. All the hotel rooms have obscured glass, which does not help.

There is no concierge available. You must carry your own luggage up the steep steps into the hotel and everywhere else.

The bathroom has a glass door and surround with a gap at each end, giving no privacy to anyone using the bathroom.

The hotel's only room service offered is to call a take away Pizza company for you and there are no tea / coffee making facilities.

There appear to be no duty managers, just the one very unhelpful manager to deal with, and only when he is on duty.

This is not an experience which I will be repeating!
