“Enjoyable stay! If you don't expect luxuries, it's a good value choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

We have stayed in the hotel at the end of October-beginning of November. I would agree with most of the latest reviews regarding the cleaniness, breakfast and very attentive staff. I think the location of the hotel in a quiet residential area just next to the beach and within a short walking distance from the noisy center with bars and clubs is a big advantage.
Pet parrot, able to say words in many languages and entertaining us during every breakfast, was adorable! We enjoyed a company of a "yellow" labrador as well.
We would definitely consider to come back to Sitges, and would most likely stay in this hotel again!

We were recommended by the Tourist office just next to the Sitges train station to try a desert vine called "Malvasia de Sitges" (made in Sitges). We had a very hard time in finding it in bars and restaurants, we have only succeded to find it in "Ara Selecció Vins" shop (Ia de Cuba, 14).

Another recommendation was to try a local dish called Xató (salat of Sitges) - we just loved it! People not liking raw fish - stay away! The best place for it we found was taverna vasca IZARRA (which was actually offering mainly food from País Basco and not Cataluña) - Major 22. This place has a special "Best Sitges" mark (www.bestsitges.cat).

Room Tip: We were extremely happy about the room 23. The room was big and with a terrace with a beautiful sea...

“Average hotel but good breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

My husband and I visited Hotel Los Globos in September 2011. Due to train times we arrived very early, but the lady and reception took our information and our bags and we headed down the beach for a few hours before we could check in.

If arriving by train its a fair walk from the station, but is in a good location to a nice quiet section of the beach. It's about 15 mins walk to the old town.

The hotel could do with some upgrading, but the rooms are clean if a little on the small side. The bathroom is tiny and my husband, who's 6,2 struggled with the toilet and shower.

The balcony was a nice addition, just unfortunately not facing the sea!

The breakfast and bar area is nice and the breakfast included in the rate is really good.

I'm not sure I'd go back but we were only there for a night. I think i would have rather had a more modern apartment or studio.

“Great hotel, very helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

Stayed here 3 nights in October 2011. Really nice hotel. Love the Buddha statues. I had a single room. It was big, a king sized bed in width but oddly short in length. I'm not tall so it wasn't an issue for me. The fridge in the room was handy for chilling drinks. The safety deposit box worked fine. The balcony has a table and chairs and privacy dividers. The bed was very comfortable, I liked the big pillows. Like another reviewer pointed out the place has no carpeting so noise travels more than it otherwise would.

The 2 staff that were there for my stay were awesome, very friendly and helpful. Rodee and MIhaela (apologies for the spelling). Rodee speaks little English so I communicated with her in French but Mihaela speaks excellent English.

The breakfast bufffet was included and was very good.

I did have an incident that hopefully doesn't happen often. Like many hotels in Sitges there is no one on site overnight. At this hotel from 11pm till 8am. I got back to the hotel at 1245am one night. My card swiped me through the front gate and then into the front door of the hotel but then failed to open my room door. Fortunately I had my cellphone with me and they post an emergency phone # at the front door to call so I did and I woke up poor Rodee who gave me instructions in French on where to find an extra swipe card that would get me into my room (good thing they plan for this contingency but not good that this type of thing happens). Now if you don't speak Spanish or French (or Romanian) and you get Rodee on the phone late at night I guess she'd have to come to the hotel to let you in.

The only thing that keeps me from giving this place 5 stars is the location. It is a bit of a walk, 10-15 minutes to where 'all the action is'. So if you are in town and you need to get something from your room you're looking at a 1/2hr trip. But on the plus side the hotel is in a very quiet residential area which should pay dividends of peace and quiet during peak season when Sitges is jam packed with revellers.

One thing that was very annoying and is not the hotel's fault is the taxi gouge rates. By my reckoning it is about a 2km drive from the hotel to the train station. The ride itself takes 3-5minutes, this is a small town. When I took a taxi from nearby the train station to the hotel it came out to around 7 Euros. And going to the train station it was over 8.5 Euros. I don't speak Spanish should I couldn't inquire more about why the price jumped by over 2 Euros on the meter display once the taxi arrived at the destination but I assume I was being hit with surcharges for putting a bag in the trunk and going to the train station. But I didn't begrudge the taxi drivers because that's just common tourist rip-off tactics in many places in the world and my inability to speak the local language doesn't leave me much options to complain or challenge.

“Good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

We spent a few days here out of season and i think it was a good choice.
What I liked:
- quiet residential area location, but only a 10 minute walk along the seafront to town
- much of furniture had been fairly recently renewed
- comfy bed
- friendly staff
- excellent pastries (and lots of other things) for breakfast
- sea view from balcony
- quirky - statues of Buddha ; pet parrot
- palm-tree terrace for breakfasts / drinks
- very good value.
- good curtains keep out the light.
If you are a light sleeper, note that the rooms are not double-glazed, and that the doors and windows do not fit well - so you'll hear door-slamming. There are no carpets, so sound travels easily throughout the hotel.
This is a two-star hotel; the bathrooms are dated and now seem quite basic - but if you don't expect luxuries, it's a good value choice.
I have given only 2 stars for cleanliness because there was a rat and rat droppings on our balcony (however, inside, the room was very clean).

“Terrific little place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

We stayed in Los Globos for a long weekend in September. The place is terrific. Everything is just superb about it - small enough, clean, quiet, just few steps from the beach, away from the noisy bars an clubs but just a short stroll along the promenade from them if you must visit them. The room was big and with a terrace, airconditioning, safe deposit box, fresh towels every day. Simple but substantial breakfast. Super-nice English speaking staff. They really go extra mile to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. The only shortcoming is short beds. If you are under 6'1 tall, you won't be affected though :) so I have no hesitation to recommend the place. Enjoy your stay as we did!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a terrace.
