Cramped run down rooms and lack of room / hotel amenities usually associated with a 3 star hotel render the Celimar very poor value for money. Basically the Celimar is a 2 star hotel with air conditioning and a good location

The location of Hotel Celimar right on Sitges main beach is great. Parking available at the sister hotel but the very helpful receptionist showed us where we could get street parking near the station and walk back. The building's exterior is lovely - modernismo style, however the room we had with beach view was very small, almost no room for bags.

Once the owners of the Celimar Playa invest in a renovation, this small hotel in the dead-center of the Sitges beach promenade (and inner streets full of shops/nightlife) will be a hot spot.

Unfortunately, the hotel currently operates with the rooms, bed linens and bathrooms that are worn, sandy, dirty, humid. Thankfully, the individual air conditioner in the room worked well, cooling the room and reducing the feeling of hot humid and dirty.

Staff: The staff at Reception desk were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast: The free breakfast is one of the worst I've had in recent years. The coffee is.... please, invest in a coffee machine!!

Again, the location makes the run-down quality almost forgiveable; it was possible to walk back from the nightlife in minutes, or to the beach directly across the street.
However, not a romantic place to bring a loved one; perhaps if I was backpacking with buddies, it would be acceptable.

I guess some people are prone to negativity, judging by a lot of the negative reviews for this hotel. After reading the reviews I was a bit concerned about having selected this hotel, but now that we're here, after 2 nights, I can say that the place is really nice. The staff has been very helpful and nice. The location is GREAT---just steps away from the warm sand of the beach. You can sit at a table in front of the hotel and leisurely enjoy the ocean, the passers-by, and the view of the big white church on the hill. Spectacular!
